Seastone Port
Demographics
Seastone Port composes mostly of lower and middle-class citizens that work the dockyards, the nearby warehouses, and various businesses that are in the area. Also, many fishermen and seamen have residence within the district when they are not out in Blackfen Bay or out on the open waters of the sea.
Government
Governance of the capital falls under the Emperor and his advisers. However, the districts of Alimmar each have a local nobleman that oversees them.
Defences
The Seastone port is contrary to the other districts. The main walls of Alimmar only covers the Northern edge of the district while an interior wall separates the port with the rest of the city. While the port is exposed to the waters of Blackfen Bay, several towers with ballistae and bonfires have been constructed on the ends of several docks as a means to protect the district.
Infrastructure
Like most of the capital, paved roadways and sewers are constructed throughout Seastone Port. Since the district is more industrial and commercial there is a lack of parks and plazas within the area. Multiple taverns and inns are run in the area to support and give lodging to individuals traveling by sea. Along the docks, many contraptions and constructs including crane and pulley systems are built-in support of the movement of cargo and passengers from ships as well as methods of quickly moving them to their designated warehouses. A significant majority of the port is lit during the evening by lamplight along the roadways which are set alight and doused each and every day.
Architecture
Having a decent-sized populace while also being a port many of the buildings are a least two stories tall to fit the necessities of the district. Warehouses vary in size from single wide to up to block wide sizes depending on the owning organization and their needs. Streets are somewhat narrow but large enough for two carts to travel through easily. Many of the buildings overhang above the street providing more space for the residents and businesses while staying the same lower size.
