Whadi's Old Forgar District
Description
This is a well maintained industrial district. It has all the artisants required to supply ships with repair components. Altough the city does not have dry docks, it is still an important hub for ships. There is a lot of work required to fabricate parts and also supply the city and travellers with what they need. The district is composed of carpenters; tailors (for small sails and patches cobblers; etc... Other more smelly and noisy shops like smithy and slaughterhouses are located at the very south of the district where it is less disturbing for inhabitants and the wind carries the smell away from the housing districts. Smaller goods and daily suppliers are located west, closer to the docks district.
History
The name comes from an old addage that says: "Go see ya old forgar's to get yar's stuff fixed!". Essentially old smith or old forge became 'Old Forgar' and adapted into the district's name. The docks needed a lot of artisans and smiths to supply the docks with common goods such as crates, barrels, sail patches, pulleys and other replacement parts for ships. There is therefore a disproportionate number of artisans compared to the population of the town since Whadi is a resupply stop for ships. This district is ever growing and more and more needs to reclaim realestate from Croc's Gutter District to be able to sustain the growing amount of sea traffic.
Go see ya old forgar's to get yar's stuff fixed!
