Peinti

An extinct culture thought to have occupied most of the southern Milosian Peninsula. The Peinti are commonly thought to have been wiped out by the Ethelites when they moved south into what is now the Ethel Strand, but Sivan Strider spells that they may have been conquered an assimilated into Siiari culture, which was much more widespread before the emergence of the Leante. Genev the Terrible contradicts this, suggesting that survivors of the Peint would eventually split into the Siiari and the Rathi.   Also called Peints, modern understandings of the Peinti are almost entirely colored by Peint, called Dead Magic, a ritual use of dyes and oils and paints to enact mystical powers when applied to surfaces. They are thought to have placed much importance on specific patterns, called glyphs, as well as illustrated histories. Naturally, time and the elements have removed much of the proof of these assumptions, but some caves in southern Milos are still home to ancient paintings attributed to them, most famously the caves beneath Badger Ridge in the Revellian Promontory.
