Clan Luutar

Sigil: A Silver Wyvern
Colors: Gilt and Teal
Current Patriarch: Lord Edram
Domain: Clan Luutar is a "city clan" in Dubraigh
Seat: Wyvernhall at Dubraigh   Vassal of Clan Sirtal at Dubraigh   Clan Luutar is well known for its hereditary feud with Clan Eskmai, as well as the shame of Aormek's Rebellion.   The Luutars were originally a minor clan on the Green Isle. Their patriarch, Aadaal Luutar, swore his family to Garland the Conqueror during his first visit to the island. Aadaal was an old man with a twisted back and a clubfoot, blind in one eye and sporting a broken jaw that had healed wrong, yet he labored beside his sons and grandsons to help build the ships that would carry Garland to Liddinawth. Twice he developed a cough that many feared would be his end, yet he loudly commanded his place on the ships and in the boy king's army, ultimately dying during the taking of Aerwoth Port.   The family passed to Mox Aormek after Aadaal's death, who served as a principal general in Garland's army, marching to take Dubraigh from the Eskmais after the last Western King had fallen to Garland's sword, essentially ending the war. The Luutars were given Dubraigh, until Mox Aormek inexplicably rebelled against the king he had fought to install, supposedly at the behest of his evil wife Saoirem. Aormek was slain by a mere squire, and the Luutars were brought low as their perennial enemies the Eskmais were given rule over Dubraigh. The Eskmais themselves would rebel two generations later with similarly dismal results, leaving Clan Sirtal in control of the region.   Since this time, the Luutars' influence has fluctuated, waxing and waning as they vie against the Eskmais for influence in the area.
