Kirin Luutar o Beth

Lady of Luutar and Victor of the Four Crowns

Lady Kirin Luutar- Beth (a.k.a. The Harridan)

First daughter to Garland IV and Queen Zun'jel   Princess Kirin would be enormously influenced by her Aunt Liani. Though Liani left for Ethelbrand and her future husband when Kirin was only five years of age, Kirin would never forget the boldness with which she challenged the roles set for women in Revellia. Sir William Glast, the Chief Justicar who returned to his homeland of Urudun shortly after Liani's departure, was likewise sympathetic to these ideas.   Despite these abandonments, Princess Kirin would continue to push against the gender roles lain upon her for her entire life. Her own mother, a native-born Liddinawth, would likewise encourage these views, and her grandmother was the legendary Storm Queen Flaithe, who had disguised herself as a man and led armies against Urudun during the Stock Wars.   Nevertheless, Kirin would find opposition to her wishes from all corners. She was asking to learn spelling not long after learning to walk, but this was an unseemly practice for a firstborn daughter. Later in her youth, she would demand the right to train in the yards with sword and shield, again being rebuked. She would even spend over a year being secretly trained by her younger brother, Prince Dorreon, but this would be found out and ended not long before her wedding to Aarnok Luutar.   Princess Kirin had been betrothed to Aarnok Luutar since the age of eight. This was a remarkably low match for the royal daughter, but was deemed necessary to secure the West. Ironically, this would help create a power imbalance that would lead to the Dubraigh Civil War that precipitated the Four Crowns and led to Kirin's claim for the throne.
