When King Orman Wulk fell to Garland the Conqueror at the Battle of Belrain, it was Mox Master Dullan Eskmai that held the castle at Dubraigh against Aormek Luutar's siege. The defenders held out for only a moon's turn before Eskmai surrendered. For their honorable resistance and conceding to Garland the Conqueror's rule, the Eskmais retained a few of their honors, and even Mox Master Dullan kept his life (the castle Wizard, Hannah Humble, was famously not so lucky). Inexplicably, Mox Aormek Luutar would rebel against his king scarcely after the war was over. He was slain by a mere squire, and control of the castle and all of Dubraigh's holdings was given over to the Eskmais: it had been Mox Dullan himself who had turned against the Luutars the moment they rebelled, and led the royal armies against the rebels. If Aormek's actions were strange, those of Mullagar were stranger. Dullan Eskmai's grandson Mullagar would lead Dubraigh in a rebellion against the East a mere two generations later, thinking to take advantage of the capitol's temporary weakness at see. Bizarrely, the young and warlike sailor had forgotten about Aerwoth's strong alliance with Ethelbrand, the most powerful fleet in the entire Peninsula. Mullagar's forces were destroyed. His entire family disowned him posthumously and somehow managed to save their hides, though the Eskmais were removed from power, and the relatively minor Clan Sirtal was put in charge of Dubraigh. The Eskmais and Luutars have both been humbled, yet their familial feud continues to this day.
