The peoples of Apa Axas are a hardy bunch. Throughout their long and troubled history, Apa Axans have routinely been under the thumb of more powerful beings; from the deadly Travesties, to the cruel New Gods and even the demented Sarkic Empire, and yet, they persevere, as well as dealing with nightmarish alterations to reality, such as The Godrot Plague, Mirikas Incident and the Fall of Lucidity. This resilience has honed the Apa Axans into a populace of stoic strength, iron wills and absolute endurance, allowing them to conquer most of the deadly environments that the Roving Reality can throw at them. These races are similar to others found in the Multiverse, such as the Humans, Elves, Halflings and Dwarves, although their origins, cultures and beliefs are often entirely warped from their parallel counterparts. A prime example of this are the Dark Elves, or Drow, who in most realities, venerate the Spider Goddess Lolth. However, due to the effects of the The Clever Folk's God Severment, the Lolth of Apa Axas was severely weakened, and eventually killed. Due to the Drow’s focus on strength and rigidity, this weak God was seen as an insult to them, and they quickly splintered into groups to find new gods, or repower and resurrect Lolth. The origins of these races are varied and are often interweaved with the Beacons and Travesties, with some of these deities being directly responsible for the creation of their race, whether on purpose or accidentally. These origins are often contested by other races, and can lead to skirmishes and even all-out war due to these differences. However, many of these races, regardless of origin or beliefs, have endured for millennia, and continue to thrive, even on some of the more uninviting areas of the Seven Kingdoms, outlasting deadly hurricanes, terrifying volcanoes and even entire continents filled to the rafters with Undeath nightmares. While some of these races may be considered evil by their counterparts, due to the actions of a few, many are simple people who only wish to live in peace. However, between the call of adventure and the madness present on Apa Axas, a peaceful life might be beyond anyone’s reach in this deadly existence.
