Summercamp 2022 Pledge and Tracker

With Summer Camp right around the corner I've decided that I want to create a pledge and tracker to try and help organize my thoughts and goals for working on Andraous during this event.

Prep Work

I've recently started going through older articles and have been reformatting them from a bullet-point format to sentence format. So far I've gotten through Major Geographical Locations to Monstrous under Wildlife. I was hoping to get through all of the articles before Summer Camp, but greatly underestimated all of the articles I have. In between prompts I'll probably try to continue this.   I've also been holding onto potential ideas for my world in preparation of Summer Camp and writing them in a notebook. Hopefully it will be of great help for all of the prompts.

Goals & Rewards

Last event I failed to write as much as I wanted due to external events and stress. At this point things are better, and I'm hoping to use this event to further expand Andraous.

Goals

My primary goal is to create an article for every prompt this year, even if it is only a stub article. That way even if I can't full flesh out the idea I can still come back to it after the event. A secondary goal of mine is to start creating artwork for my articles. It's been a while since I constantly drew, and I want to get back into the habit.

Rewards

My rewards for this event will be tasty food, and breaks to enjoy my pets and video games.

Themes

I am very excited for this year's themes, and look forward to exploring my world through them. I'm planning on focusing on a region in my world that I am currently calling the 'Amber Prairieland', but if a prompt inspires me for a different region I won't complain.

Expanse

The 'Amber Prairieland' is the perfect region for this theme, for it is a massive prairie located at the heart of Tamerea. It is dotted by rolling hills, potholes, and cut through by rivers. There is a lot to explore within the tall grasses of the prairie.

Discovery

There is a couple of angles I could explore with this one. A lot is waiting to be discovered out in the tall grass, from ruins to creatures. The 'Amber Prairieland' is the original home of the Humans, and being the curious folk that they are, are well known for their scholars, and inventors.

Leadership

There are several human nations and organizations in the 'Amber Prairieland', and this would be a good time to try and flesh those out. I have a couple already created, but they are very rough draft, and little to no thought of the leadership roles have been worked on.

Monstrous

Possibly my favorite theme of the four, I am really looking forward to figuring out what kind of creatures I want stalking the tall grass. I know for sure I want creatures such as drakes and hyenas, but I want to flesh out individual species, and I want them to be more unique to my world. I don't want to just copy and paste a Brown Hyena from the real world into my world, but create a new one inspired by the hyenas of our world.

Inspiration

I've recently discovered a speculative evolution worldbuilding project called Kaimere and have been blow away by the amount of detail and thought that Keenan has put into both his world and artwork. It has definitely inspired me when working on my own world, and I am always excited when he posts new art or videos on his work. I would highly recommend checking it out. Here is is link to the 'What is Kaimere?' video for anyone who is curious.

Article Tracker

In the past I would store the articles I made for Summer Camp in a temporary category for the event, and would then sort them into my main categories afterwards. While I will be doing the same this year, I want to add links to those articles here, so I can see what I worked on each event all in one go even after the event.
