Malandra the Drake Guardian

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The youngest daughter of a Drake breeder, Malandra spent much of her childhood playing in the drake stables that her father owned.   When she was a young adult, the 'Rogue King' began his campaign to conquer all of Tamerea, and it wasn't long until a unit of his army was at her town's front door. Unwilling to sit by as her home was raided, Malandra hopped onto her favorite drake's back and took off towards the front lines with several other drake riders. Using the tall grass to their favor, she lead the small group in using hit and run tactics over the span of several days. The enemy, being picked off one by one by the demons in the grass, eventually lost their nerve and retreated.   Encouraged by win, Malandra would go on to organize other drake riders against the rogue king's army, mainly using the drakes to strike at supply lines and camps, striking fear into the enemy's heart. Her efforts were vital in the war, by slowing the army's advancement she gave the resistance armies time to counterattack.

Employment

Malandra spent much of her younger years working at her father's stables, saving her coins in hopes of opening her own stables. When the war came to her doorstep those dreams were put aside, and she quickly became a vital leader of the Drake Riders, conducting missions against the enemy and training recruits on how to ride drakes.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Malandra was fascinated with Drakes ever since she was a little girl, spending all of her time at her father's stables. This love for drakes would prove crucial in the war efforts, and her knowledge on how to care, train, and ride drakes would be invaluable. After the war she would step down from a leadership role of the Drake Riders, choosing to instead offer council when requested, and spending the rest of her free time studying wild drakes across Tamerea.

Hi there! You may not know me, but I am the sponsor of the Great Leader of Their People Summer Camp Prompt this year! Since you wrote this article, I would like to know, would you mind me reading it aloud on my Twitch channel this week? I have a lot to get through so it helps to do it live while people watch. I've scheduled to go live at 8am and 8pm Eastern Time every weekday. If you join and comment, I can go over your article right then and there! If you'd like to coordinate a specific date, let me know. If you aren't able to make it (or don't want to be present live), you can also always watch streams after the fact on my YouTube channel   BUT, if the answer is NO because you'd rather I not, it's okay! Not agreeing to be streamed definitely does not put you at any disadvantage for winning in my eyes. Please respond swiftly by replying here (make sure to click REPLY under my comment or I won't be notified), message me on my World Anvil profile page, Discord, or anywhere else you find me online.   Thanks again! Whatever you choose, God bless and much success! <3

Sure, go ahead! Just be warned it is a very, very early rough draft.

Don't worry about anything. A lot of the articles (even my own XD) are rushed and have some errors but that's to be expected. :) I appreciate the response and the permission! <3 Have a blessed one!

Hi there. I pray all is well. I went over your article last night in my final stream. Here's the link for the replay if you'd like to take a look. PLEASE BE ADVISED THE STREAM IS ALMOST SEVEN HOURS XD but I tried to link the articles in the comments in the order they appeared for your skippy-through convenience. :D If not, no worries at all. Thanks again for allowing me the honor! Have a blessed one. <3

Thank you for the review! I'll definitely keep what you said in mind when I come back through to edit and add to the article.   In response to some of your points, the map is a very old map I made on Wonderdraft, it's very outdated I need to make a new one. I'm not sure how to make the credits appear on there, though I guess I can write a note in my world summary.   The mention of "demons in the grass" was more of how the soldiers perceived them when they were being attacked. They didn't realize that when were being picked off by riders and their drakes, and assumed it was some kind of monster or demon.   Thanks for mentioning the sidebar toggle, I didn't know that was an option.   There's definitely a lot I still need to do with this character, but I was short on time during the event to get something done for every prompt. Hopefully I'll be able to revisit this character again soon, though I'm currently working on converting many articles from bullet-points to actual paragraphs. Thank you again for the review. :)

No prob at all! Very understandable. I personally have blanket credits in the footers that show up all around my world on every page, but whatever you choose is up to you. Thanks for checking it out and I am glad some of my pointers were beneficial. <3
