Phoenix's Will

What was briefly a political powerhouse is now little more than a group of bandits that wave around torches threatening to set the prairie aflame during the dry season.

Culture

Many that join or agree with the organization are both fascinated with fire and fear the beasts that hide within the tall grass.   The Phoenix's Will believes the Phoenix to be sacred due to their perceived ability to rise from the ashes after a wildfire. Several higher ups keep an phoenix as a symbol of the organization.

Public Agenda

The Phoenix's Will wish to set the entire Firadas Prairie aflame at the same time, believing that if they do so all of the dangerous creatures will die out, making the prairie much safer for trade and to expand settlements.

History

The Phoenix's Will began as a small political group, promising safety by cleansing the land of dangerous monsters by setting the prairie ablaze. They quickly gained followers among the traveling merchants and farmers that encountered the dangerous wildlife the most often, but the nobility and scholars worried about dangers such a blaze would present   At the height of their popularity a wildfire sprung up at the base of a hill that a settlement was on. Caught unawares, the locals could not contain the blaze, and it quickly grew out of control. The fire raced up the hill, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people that could not get out of the way in time. The Phoenix's Will was blamed for the event, and their popularity plummeted. The group was banned shortly after and new laws were put in place around the use of fire.   Furious, the core members decided that they would eliminate the dangers of the Firadis Prairie, and if it meant eliminating those that opposed them, then so be it.
