'Portal Ring'

"Do you know what this means?! So many of these creatures; centaurs, harpies, sphinxes, griffons, all of them are not natural species! They were created here, within the pocket dimension that this ring is connected to, by the 'A.O.'! These notes go through the entire process of how to create chimeras, we could create chimeras of our own! Imagine combining an Orc and a Drake, or an Elf with a hawk or a Human with a horse..."   "You mean a centaur?"   "...What?"   "Think about it, 'A.O.'s were well known for keeping slaves, when you have a extendable supply of slaves and magical means to combine living creatures into new forms..."   "...Centaurs, harpies, merfolk, fauns...all of them must have been created using 'A.O.' slaves. The council always said the if the 'A.O.' were to still exist to this day that they would have a seat on the council..."   "Does that mean that those who were created with 'A.O.' slaves should be considered folk in their own right? Most have already been recorded having their own languages, tradition, full on culture. But the council has always denied them representation due to their animalistic halves, but what right do we have to deny them when their other half is 'A.O.'?"

Mechanics & Inner Workings

When flicked into the air the ring will grow in size and portal will be opened within it. Step through the portal and one will be teleported to a pocket dimension that houses an old 'A.O.' menagerie for chimeras.

Significance

Scholars were ecstatic about the discovery of this ring in some 'Ancient Ones' ruins in the Firadas Prairie. Due to the pocket dimension being attached to an 'A.O.' artifact, this was the first time evidence was discovered of 'A.O.'s' using of pocket dimensions. Before it was theorized, but not proven. The menagerie within the pocket dimension, while now empty of most of the chimeras it once held, contained near pristine and extensive writings about the process and results of the chimeras that the 'A.O.'s created. These notes revealed the origins of many creatures that scholars didn't know how to classify, and have started fierce debates over whether or not chimeras created with 'A.O.' sacrifices should be considered folk.
Current Location
Rarity
As far as scholars can tell, there is only one of these particular rings, though they won't deny the possibility of there being more.
