'Ancient Ones'
A highly magical folk that once ruled across Tamerea. Their dependence on magic lead to their eventual downfall, and the crash of the world's magic levels crippled their civilization. The survivors would eventually become the Kinfolk. All that remains of this once great civilization is the various ruins that dot the Tamerea and much of their cultures have been lost.

The 'Ancient Ones' were a standard bipedal folk. They had one head, two arms, and two legs.

Compared to even the modern day folk, the 'Ancient Ones' were considered a very magically advanced race.

Not much is known about the 'Ancient One's' reproduction but it is assumed that they reproduced via sexual reproduction.

Very little is known about the 'Ancient One's' growth and life stages. Some scholars believe that certain individuals may have been able to magically extend their lives.

The 'Ancient One's' were able to extend their influence across the Tamerea by using magic to help survive the various habitats.

Based on the ruins spread across Tamerea it's believed that the 'Ancient One's' were omnivores, and farmed both crops and livestock using magic to increase growth rates and increase yields.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
Their exact origins are shrouded in mystery, however the oldest known signs of the 'Ancient One's' have been found on the 'A.O.'s' Homeland, and island continent near Tamerea. It the height of their power they made their way to the Tamerea and set up outposts across the continent. By the time the world's magic levels crashed it's believed that they may have even set up a few outposts on other islands and continents.

The ruins and artifacts scattered across the Tamerea has lead scholars to believe the 'Ancient One's' to be highly intelligent.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The extant of the 'Ancient Ones' base senses are poorly known, however there is some evidence that they would magically enhance their senses depending on their needs.

Very little is known of their organizations. There was at least one governing body.

Thanks to the 'A.O.'s' advanced magical abilities they were believed to use magic in almost all aspects of life. This allowed them to extend their territory across Tamerea. They also had their own currency that consisted of gold coins with various gems embedded in them to denote value.

History
Even though the 'Ancient One's' existed long before modern history, their actions have greatly impacted the world even to this day. At the height of their reign the 'Ancient One's' used more magic in their day to day lives than could be naturally regenerated by the planet. It's unknown if they knew the planet's magic levels would eventually crash, but when it did it took out their civilization with it. Many 'Ancient One's' didn't know how to function without magic, their food production crashed and many starved to death. Others were killed by various monsters after their magical protections vanished. The survivors became isolated from one another and attempts to get to other outposts in search of help often failed.
Eventually the descendants of the survivors forgot about their heritage, and became the modern folk we now know, such as the Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Humans, etc. It would be a long time before the natural magic levels stabilized, and centuries before the new races learned how to use it. Some scholars theorize that there may be a few 'A.O.' individuals that survive to this day, possibly being strong enough to continue tapping into the dwindled magic reserves and magically extending their lives.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
No 'Ancient Ones' are known to still be alive in the modern day so no one has ever seen one. However art discovered in A.O ruins depict them with either bronze, gold, silver, or rustic colored skin with a slight metallic shine to it.
