Yana
Yana is the oldest child of tavern maid Vania and granddaughter of Calvis. She is openminded and curious, and always very eager with wanting to go on patrol together with the city guard.

Personal history
She was born and raised in Schwarzstein as daughter of tavern maid Vania and soldier Johann . Relatively secure behind the walls of the small desert town she has shown an interest in becoming a guard herself, protecting the people she loves from harm.
She has two younger brothers, Lukas and Donnic, and family is very important to her.
She and the town's temple's caretaker Jonas are good friends, yet their relationship cooled down a little after the death of Yana's father and after Jonas had admitted that he wanted to be more than friends with her.
Despite usually playing her skills down she is a good shot with her bown and arrows and practises regularly if there's the time. Like the rest of her family she has mixed feelings about leaving Schwarzstein, but seems excited for the chances a new start like this could offer them.
Yana is easily impressed by a display of bravery, mystery, and bending the rules. She also loves secrets and exploring.

Just like her brothers she also played a big part in keeping the secret surrounding her tainted father safe. She and the other family members regularly visited him while he was hiding in the mines to bring him food. One night as she and Lukas were just about to return to the village they were caught by two alleged adventurers, who knew that they were hiding Johann and potentially also his two deserted friends. The kids tried to deny this, but the adventueres then revealed that they had been sent by the Magisterium to "deal with a threat", and then threatened to kill the children as well to get to Johann. In self-defence Yana shot one of the adventurers as he approached, then shot the other as she was running away, to prevent her from alarming the guards.
In shock, Yana and Lukas didn't know what to do at first, so they decided it was best to get their father out of the mines and hide the bodies. They knew the Desert Crows would arrive soon, so their father could travel ahead a little and they would catch up soon. Yana went to get her mother, who was at home sleeping, and together they hid the bodies as Lukas and Johann disappeared ito the desert.
Yana later of course denied that she had seen the adventurers. When the party revealed to her though that they had found footsteps near the mines she admitted that she had been up there, with the hopes of making herself seem a little less suspicious. Drawing the attention away from her family she said that the guard captain was a much better shot than herself, and that she had been at the mines in the hopes of figuring out what had happened to the missing adventuerers.
During the confrontation with the group and Johann in "Chaos and Decisions" she would have been ready to step in again to protect her father from harm, but her recklessness almost escalated the situation various times. Eventually though she realized there was no point in trying to hide the secret anymore and came clean with what had happened at the mines.
When her father died of the injuries he had sustained during the darkspawn attack she mourned quietly, didn't seem to be able to find rest though during the journey on the next day. Claudia eventually made her an offer: her family might have work for someone with Yana's talents. Her curiosity piqued and encouraged by the others to keep working on her archery skills she said she'd consider the offer.

She is outgoing and friendly, almost excitable at certain topics. She is curious and eager to help where she can, although lacks some discipline when it comes to obeying her mother's wishes. Still, she does feel responsible for the safety of her family and would do anything for them to ensure they are happy and safe, and she can be stern and serious if need be.

She is often seen following the guards of Schwarzstein around, asking for them to let her join them on their patrols.

Mother and daughter have always been close, and the events of the past weeks have tied them together even closer.
