Lukas
Lukas is the middle child of Schwarzstein's former tavern maid Vania and the soldier Johann.
He is a reluctant and relatively quiet and serious young man, and sometimes lacks the initiative to take things in his own hands. But if threatened he is not scared to take responsibility and protect his family.

Personal history
Lukas is the middle child in his family, and a bit of a loner. He usually does what his sister Yana tells him and is rather obedient, in return he feels responsible to protect his younger and still rather immature brother Donnic. Lukas is close to his mother and while not the bravest himself still determined to make sure she is safe.
For his father he had the greatest respect, but was also a little resentful towards his profession as a soldier. It meant that he was rarely at home with them, and he missed him a lot. After Johann died it was Lukas who kept his sword and shield safe, despite knowing that he himself would probably not want to be a soldier.

When the family hid Johann and feigned his death, Lukas also played his part in it. Due to being a very quiet, unsuspicious member of the community who never got into trouble - unlike his siblings - it was him more often than not to visit their father in the mines of Schwarzstein. It was also Lukas who brought his father out of town after the alleged "adventurers" discovered them and were killed by his sister. When their father finally died, giving his life to protect his family, Lukas decided to leave his sword and shield at Johann's grave-site. As a marker for the exact spot on the one hand, as a symbol that a soldier and in his eyes a hero was buried here, but also because keeping the weapons would have been a too painful reminder to him how small of a part of his life his father had been, and now he was gone forever.

The two brothers are very close.

The two eldest siblings are close, yet the events of recent have put a little bit of strain on their relationship. They had a great burden to shoulder since their father returned home dying of the taint.

Lukas looked up to his father a great deal, despite not being overly fond of his profession as a solider. He missed im a lot whenever he was travelling, and was always seen close by his side when Johann was home.
