The Kingswood
Geography
One of the largest forests in Avalyra, second only to Broadling Woods, the Kingswood stretches from west of Dawnshield all the way to the kingdom's eastern coast. It surrounds the road between the capital and Shademoor, and reaches the southern edge of The Silver Peaks. A large lake is situated in the Kingswood's northeastern reaches, with several streams and small rivers running throughout the forest.
Fauna & Flora
The Kingswood is teeming with wildlife and flora, some of which can be dangerous to the unwary traveller. A mixed woodland of coniferous and deciduous trees, the forest floor is a lush carpet of grass, moss and fungi year round, with dryads and other creatures of the wood tending to the Kingswood's plant life.
A huge variety of animals make their home in the forest, from simple small creatures like squirrels and owls, to larger, more dangerous beasts like wolves, direwolves and even bears. In deeper parts of the Kingswood, giant spider colonies can be found, and throughout the region, goblins and bandits have been known to plague travellers.
