Greenvale

No more picturesque city exists in Avalyra than Greenvale, a simple farming town nestled against Broadling Woods. Though that might be how it began, its central position in the kingdom has led Greenvale to become one of the most diverse towns, with passing trade in abundance to help it thrive.

Demographics

While most cities in the Kingdom of Avalyra have a majority of humans, Greenvale houses a roughly equal number of humans, dwarves and elves. As well as this, the city is home to numerous halflings, gnomes and about every race to be found in Amion.

Government

Viscount Petyr Fairman rules Greenvale with his council of nobles and merchants. He is widely regarded as a magnanimous mayor, who keeps order through the respect of his people. However, this light handed approach has led to Greenvale developing a darker underbelly. Crime has been on the rise in the city since Fairman took charge, and recently rumours have cropped up about a guild of thieves known as the Rooks.

Industry & Trade

While Greenvale's food production is eclipsed by Riverhold to the south, their main export of timber has been ever more in demand. The growing amount of logging and deforestation in the surrounding Broadling Woods has led to deepening friction with Irlalion.
