Amion

Amion is a world consisting of a single supercontinent surrounded by various smaller islands. The world is in a period of historical ignorance; while history books detail the current period as the 4th Era, few among the populace know anything beyond the existence of the two kingdoms. The two families of Gaillard and Tocuria have ruled the land for many centuries; the 3rd Era spanning over a millennium was one of peace between the two bloodlines. That peace shattered in 1384 3rd Era during a series of events now known as The Schism, marking the transition into the 4th Era. This led to the formation of two separate countries, Avalyra, ruled by the Gaillard family, and Tiarun, governed by the Tocurias. Since that time, the Kingdom of Avalyra and the Tocurian Dynasty have been wavering between uneasy peace and outright war, with the most recent peace treaty having been signed in 675.   Where few know of the time before the Schism, even fewer have any knowledge of earlier history, with most records not kept tight within royal libraries having been destroyed long ago by agents of various crowns. What little legend survives from these times speak of dark times, and ancient dictatorial rulers holding sway across the entire world. Closely kept secret records from both kingdoms substantiate these tales, detailing two millennia of dominion beneath a trio of undead sovreigns; The Eternal Kings. Even before this Triarchy, the world was ruled over by a democratic monarchy, with each ruler succeeded by the head of one family chosen from those governing the various cities of Amion. Any records before the founding of this kingdom have long since been lost to time.
