Structure

Traditionally, House Bisclavret is headed by the Baron/Baronez, without historical gender preference with both men and women serving as the de facto head of the household in generally equal measure. A small family historically, its power is centered in the Barony of Ar Mor Emrodez, the Lordship of Goelo and Aleth. The ruling family, the immediate of the Barons, has its seat and primary residence at Roc'h Goueon.

Public Agenda

With the death of Melion Bisclavret and the apparent death of all of his children Argantel, Luc and Kathalia, House Bisclavret was extinguished in 995 SI, its titles and holdings passing to House Frihep. This has been complicated by the sudden return of Kathalia Bisclavret, who has laid claim to Kab Frehel.

Assets

House Bisclavret previously held the title of Barons of Kab Frehel and Protectors of Ar Mor Emrodez, including dominion over Kab Frehel and the Castle of Roc'h Goueon. These have since passed to House Frihep.

History

House Bisclavret can trace its roots as far back as the 4th Century SI, beginning with the mercenary hero of the Alliance of the Brekilien, Armel Guyon. An early ally of Muldumarec Artegall, Guyon played a crucial part in the campaign against Conomor the Cursed, slaying the Black Dog in the Battle of Relec in 404 SI. Guyon was elevated to nobility by Ard Rí Tewdr Mawr, named as the protector of the Ar Mor Emrodez. Sieur Guyon constructed a keep at Roc'h Goueon that would be expanded into the family home of the House and the seat of the eventual Barony.   Located on the remote Emerald Coast between Sant-Brioc and Aleth along the Mor Breizh, House Guyon was directly removed from much of the chaos of the next few centuries, but maintained a regional presence, battling Sidhe pirates in the leadup to The Battle of Keremma Dunes, countering small invasions of Sant-Brioc, Havre-Kast, Erge-ar-Mor and Aleth. Its close connection with the city of corsairs made it a powerful maritime force, protecting allied trade while raiding enemy shipping and coastal settlements in Albia and the Cotentin Peninsula.   House Bisclavret remained neutral during the rebellions of   The House of Guyon would maintain control of the regions between Sant-Brioc, Dinan and Aleth until the invasion of Hastings Fireforged ~800 SI, when the senior branch was killed battling Viking Raiders along the Renk River. With the main line of succession severed and the administration of the realm in a state of chaos, the large sovereignty was divided into smaller administrative regions.   In 966 SI, a surviving cadet branch of House Guyon rose to reclaim the title of Baron of Ar Mor Emrodez, under Marrok Bisclavret, a Caballos in the service of Rivallon I of Dol. When Dol rebelled against Lethan Dug Konan II, Bisclavret followed his liege, joining forces with Gwilherm of La Manche and Hereweald of Kameled and serving with distinction in the Battles of Menez-Mikael, Dinan and Ponbay Bridge. The Caballos was rewarded for this with a grant of House Guyon's lands in Letha and the County of Bedegraine in Albia.   In 1040 SI, House Bisclavret, as vassals to Dug Konan III "The Fat", support the failed claim of Steven Bleaz against Matilda Bro-Saoz of Logres. The vengeful queen seized the House lands in Albia   In 1097 SI, House Bisclavret was a fervent supporter of Konstanza I in her war against the Order of Albi and its supporters, taking the forefront in campaigns across the Peninsula.   In 1164 SI, Melion Bisclavret became the Baron, rebuilding the ancestral home and reinforcing the family's finances. Taking advantage of his father's campaigns for Konstanza, Melion made his House a regional power. He married Dame Annaig Dieuleveult of Aleth, having two children with her, Argantel and Luc. After her   dissolved. Melion remarried, this time to Lady Annaig, a minor noblewoman of Dreger and had two children with her; Argantel and Luc, before her death. Melion also had a bastard daughter, later legitimized, Kathalia Bisclavret.   A series of tragedies befell the family in quick succession. Kathalia, having run off to join the Urzh Kroashent (Knights of the Crossroads) was excommunicated and presumed dead following the Black Crown Affair affair. Melion never recovered, and was found dead in his study within the year, his title passing to Argantel, who seeing a ship floundering on the rocky cliffs below her castle in a storm, organized a rescue effort. In the chaos, she vanished and her body was never found. Luc died in a hunting accident 3 days later before ascending to the position of Baron.   The Barony was claimed by Armel Frihep, "miraculously" producing a series of documents that traced a common lineage with the Bisclavrets. The only other heir, a distant cousin in Gwitreg, serving as a friar, fell out of a window shortly after contesting the claim based on his own records, which were then destroyed in a fire.   The Frihep currently hold the title of Barons of Kab Frehel, but the sudden reappearance of Kathalia Bisclavret has complicated their tenous claim.
