He married Alana Frihep, but the marriage quickly fell apart         Melion's marriages were less fortuitous than his public life. He first was married to Lady Pivoena Frihep of Dinan, but the relationship ended in disaster. His second wife bore him two children, but she fell sick shortly afterwards and died. He never married again, but had a long affair with a Fjallkonaned noblewoman.

Sexuality

Heterosexual. Melion has led an active life, siring 3 children in the course of 2 marriages and a long-term affair with Kathalia's mother.

Education

Melion received an education typical of a nobleman of his standing, largely consisting of a rotation of private tutors and reading. With his family castle of Roc'h Goueon isolated from the large population centers, his upbringing was largely outside of the strict controls of the Southern Church, although many of his tutors were monks and nuns from local abbeys. From the Master-of-Arms of his castle and the head steward, Melion also received training in swordsmanship, riding and etiquette, as befitting a noble of his station. His duties as a lord prevented him from pursuing further advanced education, but he remained well-read until his death, amassing an impressive library in his castle.

Employment

In the service of the Count of Dreger suppressing, and then leading rebellions Melion earned his nickname, the Wolf of Frehel, and a reputation of martial skill. He rarely partook in tournaments, but was distinguished on the field. Upon his father's death, Melion ascended to the rank of Baron of Ar Mor Emrodez, a largely ceremonial post standing watch over the rocky coast, standing vigilant against foreign invasion.   As Baron, he maintained control over a small number of farms and fishing fleets, as well as a quarry of pink sandstone and some mills. He was a respected fixture in the Courts of Landreger and Roazhon, earning the respect of his piers for his keen intellect, personable air and reputation for chivalrous nobilty.

Accomplishments & Achievements

A skilled military leader, Melion Bisclavret served the Count of Dreger surpressing small rebellions against the reign of Duchess Elenore I, then leading uprisings against Yann I in the Broceliande and Northern Ar Mor. His cunning and ferocity earned him the nickname "the Wolf of Frehel", considered one of the Count's most skilled generals.   As Baron, Melion was an accomplished lord, well-liked in the Count of Dreger's Court and Ar Mor Emrodez prospered under his guidance. He expanded his family holdings to west the Arguenon River, as well as renovating and extending his ancestral castle.   His proudest accomplishment however, was his children, a girl, Argantel and a boy, Luc, born to his second wife, and his legitimized bastard Kathalia, born as a result of an affair with a Fjallkonaned noblewoman.

Failures & Embarrassments

Melion's poor judge of character about his first wife in his youth led to a situation in which he was removed from power, presumed dead for several months. Although the marriage was annulled, the betrayal continued to haunt him after he was restored, ultimately leading to his death when he was poisoned by his former lover's agents.

Mental Trauma

Melion was distraught and never recovered upon learning of the excommunication and reported death of his legitimized daughter Kathalia during the Black Crown Affair. He never forgave himself for failing to protect her, nor did he ever learn the truth about her true fate.

Intellectual Characteristics

Melion had a reputation as a patient and caring man, gentle despite his ferocity on the battlefield. A good father and caring lord, he was well liked by his peers, family and staff. However, his past and political allegiances also earned him numerous enemies.

Morality & Philosophy

Melion valued loyalty, honesty and courage to a fault, earning commendations and favour from his lieges, but opening himself to exploitation from malicious parties. Melion strove to be a good man and pass these values on to his children.
