Aiaor
Aiaos was created by The Primeval Gods with a single, vast continent, surrounded by oceans which stretched to the edges of the dome. The only land that was not a part of the Continent of Aiaor was thrown up from the elemental plane of Earth to form the islands of the Great Archipelago, in the consequently named Sea of Stones. The Great Southern Sea extended out into the plane of Water, while the Falling Sea plunged into the plane of Air and the Auroral Waters were warmed by the plane of Fire.
Before the Colossus War, Aiaor was largely uninhabited. The Titans watched over the continent from above, and the Eladrin would travel the surface to tend to it, but it was home only to the plants and the beasts. Giant scholars claim that the surface was intended to belong to them, but such a legacy was never formally passed on. The exception was Ladon, at the very centre of Aiaor, where the Elder Wyrms occupied the land on the shores of the Ladon Sea, source of all of Aiaor's fresh water.
The Colossus War caused irreparable damage to the fabric of Aiaor. The land buckled and rocked, forming new mountains. Elemental instability caused springs and fountains to erupt in some places, while others were wracked by volcanic upheaval. The birth of the mortal Dragons and consequent creation of time introduced forces of change into the World.
During the War, the remaining Elder Races were given a place on the surface. The dragons and Dragonborn had both Ladon and the canyons of Auris to the north. The Featherfolk were given a dwelling in the north-eastern mountains. The Kobolds were not granted a place on the dome; instead, they went everywhere that no-one else was.
After the War, the world was changed, and the emergent Young Gods began to fill Aiaor with their own lineages. The First Creation saw the Elves, Dwarfs, Orcs and Scutora join the dragonborn, kobolds and featherfolk. The first Seafolk were also created in this period. Some claim the same of the Minotaur and Humans, although they are more often considered part of the second Creation, along with the Gnomes, Halflings and Yael. As this multiplicity of lineages began to establish their cultures, Actor was split into territories.
Auris - a region of dry plains, baked by the morning sun. A network of deep ravines sheltered pockets of green around hidden rivers. The area was home to dragons and the metallic dragonborn.
Caris - a large, open region of hills and dales, home to hill Giants and the earliest Giant-Kin. The region was rich in Titanic Technology.
Dakhaz - known as the Great Vale, a broad sweep of shadowed grasslands between the highlands of Remar and the Sutan plateau. Made rich by the Dark Lords to strengthen their orcs
Ladon - region of sand and grasslands around the Ladon Sea. Home to the oldest dragons and the chromatic dragonborn. Notional centre of surface authority.
Pyris - a region of rocky hills, grass and forests. Sometimes claimed as the original home of the wood and ash elves; the Thunderhead minotaurs insist that the first herds roamed here after the Colossus War.
Remar - a mountainous region, beneath which the dwarfs were created. In the time before the Cataclysm, it was the home of all dwarfs.
Sutan - Southern region of forest and jungle. It was the home of the Empire of Gond, a powerful civilisation whose relicts remain in the landscape of the South. Gond was founded by eladrin, but included members of many lineages, most notably including featherfolk.
Thera - a region of forests and mountains, home to the featherfolk of the highlands and the Union of Eldar, a high and wood elf culture that built many of the first cities on Aiaos.
Vaca - A region of broad fens and fields. It was home to the Chronarchy, an expansionist eladrin faction who attracted followers of other lineages with a philosophy of renewal and the defiance of time. The philosophy, passed down by elves of the Chronarchy, formed the root of the elven obsession with legacy. As other lineages struggled to build cities, the scutora established their first holts, travelling across the single landmass. The kobolds, of course, were everywhere.
