Auris
Auris was a desert territory in northern-central Aiaor. Deep canyons cut through the arid landscape, sheltering rivers and fertile regions in their cool, shaded depths. After the Colossus War, draconic civilisation expanded from Ladon into the northern territory. The arid desert of the Aurian plateau was welcoming to many Dragons, while the fertile river canyons provided a pleasant home for the Dragonborn of the metallic clades.
Auris was a pastoral society with no large cities. Its centres of government were the lairs of the greatwyrms, the eldest dragons of the region, who delighted in hosting great debates of law and philosophy, as well as in showing off their treasures. The leaders of Auris were, therefore, its thinkers and its public speakers. By design, this system encouraged debate and healthy disagreement, but it was also open to abuse by charismatic and unscrupulous individuals, who could use rhetorical devices and questionable sources to support self-serving conclusions.
In the years following the end of the War, Auris developed as a parallel society to Ladon, seeking a new harmony in the World that was, instead of trying to force the world back to what it had been.
Most of Auris was destroyed in the Cataclysm, the remnants being occupied as the dragonborn state of Ladonia.
