Great Archipelago

The Eladrin were originally given the Great Archipelago because the islands were much too small to support the mass of a titan, let alone any titanic construction. Through the Colossus War, the Archipelago remained the sole home of the eladrin line. Their masters gave them tools and weapons as needed, so the Archipelago was always well-supplied with are arcanotech devices, but the eladrin were denied true understanding of the science behind them.   After the war, the Archipelago was left in the control of the Four-Seated Throne, a ruling quarto composed of one eladrin aligned with each season. The four, who were only recorded by the titles of their Offices - the Blossom Band, the Golden Crown, the Antlered Diadem, and the Frozen Coronet - were joined in a four-way marriage. While the remaining records are, in the first place, fragmentary, and in the second, drawn from other nations, it seems likely that the four thrones were always occupied by the same four individuals, simply rotating from one throne to another as each progressed through the seasons in the eladrin fashion.   By order of the Four-Seated Throne, the eladrin laid aside their titanic tools, only to take up the devices of the Titans under direct order from what few titans might survive. It was in defiance of this ordnance that the forebears of the seminary of the Heron seized what they could from the vaults of the Archipelago and fled for what would become Gond.   Without machines, the eladrin of the Archipelago focused on the Magic in their blood and in the World. They are said to have grown mighty indeed in their sorcery, before the Draconic Schism erupted. When Ladon shattered, the coasts of Pyris and Vaca were thrust outward, crushing the Archipelago against the Elemental Boundary and annihilating the islands, the Throne, the eladrin, and their great magic, which the Elves in particular have coveted ever since.
