Chronarchy
The Eladrin of Vaca were another breakaway group set on defying the edicts of the Four-Seated Throne. Of all the Magic used in the Archipelago, the study of Dzenmisa was forbidden. The Chronarchs of Vaca, by the few accounts than survive, chose to leave and make that their study not merely in spite of the proscription, but because of it, deciding that no-one would trouble to forbid that which held no power.
The rebel eladrin crossed the Sea of Stones to Vaca, where they integrated with the population of geodic Dragonborn. The dragonborn were watched over by a number of Dragons, and the eladrin's experiments drew the attention of these custodians. Before the rulers of the Archipelagic eladrin were able to take note of the Chronarchs' actions, the latter had devised a way to secure their work against all interference.
With the aid of the dragons, they created a temporal fold. According to legend, every day under the Chronarchy was the same day. Within this pocket of cyclical time, the Chronarchs could pursue their studies, free from interference or the fear of death. Mortality was held at bay in the way that the eladrin understood best: eternal repetition. Unfortunately, the looped time also made it hard to learn, hard to grow or to heal. As a result, the Chronarchs were nowhere close to this goal of a perfect theory of reality when the Cataclysm hit.
During the Cataclysm, Tempus' great work temporarily drew all dzenmisa out of the World. The time loop broke and the Vacans were returned to the world in time to face destruction. The rebel eladrin state was driven into the Great Archipelago, and the resulting upheaval all-but annihilated the Chronarchy.
The physical territory of Vaca recovered, becoming the southern part of Caino. The few surviving Eladrin integrated with the elves, and the Vacan obsession with perfection became a key influence on the elven desire for a legacy.
