Rúali

The rúali1 are a tribe of humans originating from the Wild Mountains who rule southern Lera in Gráhúlysía. Their land borders the Sikíron Empire to the south, Central Sea to the southeast, the East-Þirks to the east, Sorkótans to the north, Red-Gords to the northwest and the Darka Mountains to the west.
The rúali capital is the town of Lilratía, on the southern shores of Tárútan Lake.

Society

Rúali society is heavily influenced by that of the old Paþarían Empire and its successor states, as their territory was once a paþarían colony. They are ruled by a king or olót, beneath which comes a hierarchy of sennans (nobility, descendants of the founder Sennos), detrans (those who can afford horses and armaments), lúttans (who can only afford weapons and arms) and finally lerans, farmers and enslaved descendants of paþaríans.

Culture

Apparel

Rúali dress and jewelry display heavy nemirkían influence, to the point that some nobles could easily be confused with Sikíronians from the northern provinces. The only noticeable difference is that the men often wear their hair in a topknot to appear taller.

Religion

The main deities in the rúali pantheon are the divine eagle Hon and Irval, goddess of magic, along with the gráhúlysían Bryk, god of the moon and the morning star Lúnút.

Warfare

Rúali mercenaries, especially light cavalry wielding magic staves, were highly sought after by Þerakkía (one of the paþarían successor states) and sikíronians during the early days of the empire, due to their reputation for bravery. Only sennans have right to bear magic staves, but arcane martial arts on foot and horseback are a part of the training as well and commonly used by the lower castes.
