Wild Mountains Tribes

The Wild Mountain Tribes is a general term for the predominantly human tribes currently inhabiting the Wild Mountains in northwestern Adynía. While their languages and culture vary quite a bit, many also share certain words and customs due to living in similar environment and centuries of contact with each other. Although a few live in villages throughout the year (mostly to the west), most tribes are semi-nomadic, living in villages or caves during summertime and scatter into smaller groups in winter.
A number of ethnic groups across Adynía originate from the mountains, such as Keþíans, Lerdíkans, Nartens and Nússans, as a result of migrating to the lowlands in waves throughout millennia.

History

Although not the first sapient beings to inhabit the Wild Mountains, as Dwarves originated in the region, Humans settled in the mountains very early in their history, while Orcs came later and have generally been limited to the southern parts of the mountains. The latter two groups have been the only ones inhabiting the region since the dwarves migrated elsewhere, as Elves never expanded this far north.
