Hökía
Gártan: Hökía /hœːkhija/
Góalanic: Ökí /œːkhiː/
Hökía is a city in the Góalanic Federation, located at the coast of Central Sea on the northern Íral Peninsula in eastern Góalanis.
It's one of the oldest cities in the region, dating back to early góalanic bronze age and, like Ners to the southeast, founded by early eralíans, one of the main ethnic groups of the Góalanics. The two cities have alternated between being under the same banner and being the centers of rival countries for millennia, and while both were centers of commerce in eastern Góalanis, Hökía was focused on trade with the Yteans and -to lesser extent- Ytean Orcs across the sea to the northeast, particularly Dóans, Narkrans and Vúltans, buying magic crystals, rare alchemical ingredients and animal skins in exchange for grains, apricots, fine cloth and pottery.
During the orcish conquest of Góalanis, Hökía was aided by its ytean allies, notably the dóans who sent an entire fleet1 to Góalanis, but nonetheless eventually became one of the last cities conquered by the invaders.

Government
The city is ruled by the chief (rúk) of the Úlrog tribe, one of the nine tribes that make up the federation.
Infrastructure
The city has long been a major religious center for the native góalanics, centered on the worship of Asirkil, goddess of warfare and magic, and her temple is still one of the most notable buildings of Hökía. A more recent sanctuary in the form of an enclosed sacred grove, dedicated to the orcish rain- and fertility goddess Hök, now stands facing the old temple.
