We are on the hill outside the camp, talking about options. We discuss that I probably saw some camels at the other camp. Miles sneaks off and gets some water for us. We discuss options, but the guys go looking for dynamite - and find some. This way, we can blast the tunnels closed if needed. Okay, so we finally decide to go down to the tunnels. It's just barely daylight. We hear a loud wooshing noise from off in the distance - like a rush of air - coming from inside the tunnel. Miles gets very spooked and goes cray. I guess it's gonna be okay. There are creepy mummies in this area - glass encased. Very strange indeed.
We move toward the glowing light but the professor hangs a right. There are murals - I look at them. Large tentacled visage. I don't know who it is, but wow. Very creepy. Tells the story of a civilization through a city being built - reptilian creatures. The city becomes a wasteland. The last mural shows a number of the builders are white spirits - I see primitive looking humans getting torn apart by the ghosts. I ask the professor some questions about the murals.
We keep going. We see more mummies and slight whispering/rustling noise. It was coming from the glass-encased mummies. I examine and see that the mummies are still dead but the guys think they are moving and twitching. The professor keeps us moving. We enter a new room with torture devices that are strange. I choose not to dwell on the devices. The professor walks slowly to one devices and places his hand on a skull - says something in a strange language. It's a human skull. I guess he knew that guy. The rows of mummies end and now there are a series of archways. There are 30 sealed archways - one of them is broken open. That archway says: al-Abbas ibn-Rasid: Shall you be as those that have learnt to walk that ought to crawl.
We come into a room with a bunch of books and a creature comprised of countless worms, grubs, and maggots. The creature is about 30 meters away. Reg is in charge of Ed. The professor suggests we don't do anything. We walk on by real quiet like. The creature seems sad and doesn't bother us. More turns and twists and make it to another chamber. The professor has been in this temple before. We arrive in the shrine to Nug and Yeb. It smells real bad in this room. The room is kinda gross. Two large paintings in the room. We avert our eyes.
We now enter a large temple. Dudley goes first. The professor is actually the guy who wrote the Necromonicon. He meant for it to be a warning not a tool. He is suffering because of this knowledge. The skeleton was his. he wants to help us prevent the rise of R'lyeh. The professor knows that if Malcolms cult gains information it will bring Cthulhu too early. There is a timing piece going on - if the cultists know about the timing they can call him about because the time is nearly right. We know we need to destroy the temple but we aren't sure how.
