Session 50 -

4 NPCs Eloi Sivor and Tremond (currently paralyzed) and Light and 7 remaining horses
 
Eloi is the only NPCs with us for this mission.
We still aren’t sure if we are going to rob Elrich. But we decide to impersonate the hired wizard who lives alone on the grounds and pin it on him.
Hyadr grinds up some mushrooms into a powder (the ones that make you real depressed)
Jo uses pass without trace to keep the group hidden as we approach.
Panfyr sleeps a guard and ties him up to a nearby tree, blindfolds and gags him. Does this twice, does it thrice! Does it 4 times! All four corners of the mansion.
 
As a group we approach the wizards lab.
Franz disguises himself as a guard and knocks on the wizards door. The rest of us are out of sight around the corner. Max is his disguised name.
As Franz’ ruse starts to fall apart, Elias sneaks closer to the door and gets ready to shoot. Astrigal is the name Franz gives his friend and has Elias join him inside where Elias changes his accent and proves himself a sleep expert with one of the stale sleep cookies.
Eventually, Elias tires of the ruse and hits him with a dagger. Franz follows suit with magic missile it’s not enough.
The wizard opens a box that contains some kind of creature. Many tentacles fill the room.
 
We roll initiative.
 
Panfyr is able to knock the wizard out. Tentacles from the chest begin to wrap around the mage. She then runs up to the box.
Elias runs up to the box and attempts to close it but tentacles wrap around his wrist stopping him before he can finish the arcane rune combination.
Hyadr throws a poison mushroom into the chest of tentacles, seems to be a portal somewhere. He then attacks some of the tentacles
Jo thorn whips the remaining vines and pulls Elias away from the chest. And archers the chest but it fails to hit.
Franz thunderwaves the chest throwing it through the wall but also closing it.
 
Elias uses the arcane pattern to seal the chest shut.
 
Franz disguises himself as the wizard and speaks with the 4 guards and guard captain. 3 guards take Elrich off premises.
Franz with the help of Elias convinces the other guards to leave while Franz cleans up and fixes up Elias’ smokiness.
Jo stabilizes the wizard.
Franz decides to keep the ‘tentacle box’ in his stocking of holding.
 
Waking up the wizard he sees the smoke and desperately asks for his coat potion.
Seems like the smoke becomes more tentacles but Elias also has them. He ultimately drinks the potion and the guy turns into tentacles.
Jo finds his Nydn Harabo’s journal and it speaks about his nightmare of a tentacle sea god worshipped by the local Koatoa.
They give the journal to Hyadr.
Franz put the ‘tentacle box’ in his stocking of holding opening a rift into the astral plane desroying his stocking and sucking all it’s contents into the astral plane
 
Ashe studies the rift. Franz moves the guards away from the rift to save them while also adding to his ruse as Nydn as the culprit.
Jo finds a secret door into a small room with a chest. Elias opens chest with mage hand revealing gold and a pouch of sneezing and wheezing.
Panfyr finds another secret door leading into a study.
Franz takes a handwritten book on nautical stars and navigation.
Panfyr opens a locked chest but triggers a trap in the chest. And falls asleep.
Elias checks on Panfyr. Jo opens the chest

We find the master bedroom
There is a trapped chest, Panfyr fails to open it but Elias does and finds the ledger of what was taken from whom.
Magnus’ get a cut. There is a secret compartment, with another pillow and glasses of minute seeing.
Franz keeps the 2 cloths and pillows
 
There’s an indoor greenhouse but the plants are just there for show, Elrich used to bring women here to impress them but even the plants could tell that he made the women uncomfortable.
 
Ashe, studying the rift can tell that something is staring back at her through the rift. She asks his name but is unable to comprehend any but John which was a name granted by a previous disciple. (Previous campaign character reference for Randi) Schrodingers understanding it is both expanding and not expanding… so she understands that she understands nothing… so she makes some concave/convex drawing in an attempt to convert what she is seeing….
 
Elias starts to get sucked in by Ashe. Franz thunder waves them 10ft from the portal. Jo casts daylight on a rock that seems to hurt the 5th dimensional beings in Ashe’s POV and throws it into the portal.
Elias nat 20’s and feels like he can control the tentacles now. When he atks he now freely thornwhips with every attack.

Jo attempts to dispel the portal. This confuses jo as it feels like suddenly they are trapped in a 3 dimensional box they try to reach out beyond the box but become light and are almost stripped from reality but while a 5th dimensional being they were able to perceive past present and future at the same time. They decide to stay in their 3 dimensional box because as a 5th dimensional being they would be leaving behind their friends.
 
They come back and Ashe is the only one who understands what they saw beyond the rift. They bond about how they both believe they are doing the right thing despite no longer being able to remember what was seen beyond the rift. They know that the past present and future have already been decided and they are here to make a difference
 
The rest of the group finds a hidden room with 3 chests. Elias finds a blank book, he then inspects a portrait that says ‘choose wisely’ styled similarly to the art in the nine hells done by Glaysia (daughter of Amodeus)
 
Elias’s familiar gets sucked into the chest when we open the bronze chest, Panfyr’s familiar sucked into the silver one. We decide not to open the chests in this room
 
Franz finds a hidden room with a chest. Elias checks Panfyr work on disarming the trap and successfully disarms it. Opining it finds Living flame paraphernalia.
