The Freelands of Amery's is a vast wildness, dotted with tiny settlements, huge cities, rivers, lakes, farms and mines and a boundless assortment of terrain. Trade routes cross the land like a colossal spider's web stretching from the west, that's punctuated by an immense mountain ranges and the endless sea of Gorphia, to the pointed spit of land to the east, a sheltered port coast right in the bosom of the Elryn Sea.​   Looking out over the sea stands Port Maverick, the indisputable capital of Amery's, with a long history and a dark past this city was once the shining jewel in the crown of the realm. In recent years the city has fallen into corruption lead by the evil underpinnings of a sinister force, hiding below the very streets of Port Maverick. Due to the actions of some unknown heroes the city, nay the realm was released from this darkness, and a new day dawned for The Freelands. ​   Soon after the city was liberated a new King and Queen took the throne despatching the previous regime that had caused so much pain. They currently look over the Freelands of Amery's as steward caretakers, their gentle hands guiding the realm back to full health.​   But the celebrations were short-lived, a radiant burst of light spilled across the land, enveloping everything in its wake. The event would later become known as The Mendrel Effect, named for an apparent victim of the incident. It would seem that history had been altered, for most, it was minor changes, for others their world was turned upside down. No-one's sure of the extent of the changes, what is known is nothing will ever be the same.​   Several hundred miles west of Port Maverick and situated in the centre of the realm is Alisar, a once sleepy town on the shore of Lake Mesitan, this little hamlet has seen miraculous growth in the past sixty years. ​   ​This is where you'll start your adventure.​   The growth of this town is said to have begun at the arrival of a fallen star in a farmer's field to the north-west of the city. Discovered by Herm Woodward the rock was taken to the centre of town where locals chipped away at it before it was buried and lost to time.​   Some claim the cities prosperity was due to this rock, others claim supernatural forces at work, either way, this was a pivotal moment for the community, a turning point if you will.​   The city is broken into 13 rough districts, the 13th being the streets. Each district has it's own charms and eccentricities, characters and renowned establishments. You will likely uncover many of these as you move through the city and its dark underbelly.​   Speaking of its underbelly you are strongly advised to limit your time in The Derge, this district is known for its illicit trade in goods and information, along with a thriving warm body market, if you get my drift!​   Many taverns reside within the city walls, but few have the reputation of the Red Dragon Inn, with marvelous notoriety and a warm hearth you'll undoubtedly find yourself here eventually. ​   Warm wood paneling and a sturdy brick construction it's lasted the test of time, established 235 years ago it may well be the oldest building in these parts, and it shows it's age through well-worn floors, a blackened chimney, and an age-old ale recipe that still flows from its taps.​   The owner, a mister Barley Trowbridge, has become a welcome sight to travelers from all over the realm. With the demeanor of a kind old uncle, he is a purveyor of not only fine food and wine but that of information. All sorts pass through here before his eyes, and he's not too shy about passing the word on should the price be right.​   The Inn this night is bustling, being a Friday that's not surprising, most of the taverns patrons are human, but a table of three dwarves sit basking in their own glory as if they've come in from some grand adventure. The fires red embers heat the underside of a chunk of pork while the bard, Belamy Taldis, tunes his instrument, and prepares for his set. ​   Alyssa, Barley's daughter coughs to draw your attention...​

    Female Human Paladin, Good. Rosy has auburn hair and hazel eyes, and a thin nose. She is wise and covetous. Rosy seeks a company of adventurers to protect her from the assassins of Sumuga the Demon Count.
