Session 50: The Moreland Graveyard Report

General Summary

Bursting into the somewhat fresh air of the Moreland Graveyard the party was quick to decide, find their stuff, get it back, then get the hell out of town!   As is often the case Petros  cast Dimension Door, gripped his companion's hands, and stepped through. Waiting on the other side The Merchantile, dappled in soft firelight from large braziers situated at the front door, two guards stand as sentries on either side of the door.  

  Approaching with a great deal of swagger Tyrian Di Mare and Dahlia Di Mare try to squirm their way in to no avail, a brief combat ensues and the guards fall like over ripe apples from an old tree.   Tyrian Di Mare and Tyrone quickly dress in the bloody guard uniforms while the others seek a way in, it's quickly found on the side of the structure, a key from one of the dead guards offers entry.   Inside this room they find it filled with curious things; on the right-hand side is a Blue glass orb suspended in a brass cradle while behind it a myriad of books and ledgers reside, the left side is a mirror of the right however the orb is red in this case. in the center of the opposing (the outside door) wall another locked door sits.   Thinking little of her safety Dahlia Di Mare places her hand on the Blue orb, a blast of lightning spills from its surface crackling on the walls and doors, and with that the door clicks unlocked.   Dahlia Di Mare opens the door and enters a large room, once across the threshold the door closes and locks behind her!  
  This new room is large with a central wall surrounding tables and chairs, presumably where the business takes place, in the left corner a pile of "loot" rests unattended, above (in the top floor) footsteps can be heard.   Struth Hackett quickly follows suit by touching the Blue orb and gaining admittance.   After a long search, the two explorers find most of the group's belongings aside from all of their apparel and armor. Petros joins them at this point but is only granted access via the Red Orb, the same lightening proceeds the door becoming unlocked.   Dahlia quickly goes down the stairs on the right side of the room and discovers a scary dark room, she hurriedly comes back shaken to the core.   Struth leaves the room to fill in Tyrion and Tyron who have had their own encounter with more guards, their corpses now lay inert in the small Orb room alongside the first two guards who died.   In the main room Dahlia and Petros gain access to the back door, evidently where the noises from above have originated. Inside this door, they find a red carpet leading to a read staircase and the opposite in blue. Tyron has at this point found his way in and is following his friends, leaving Struth and Tyrion behind in the Orb room.   Choosing the blue staircase they all ascend and find an empty meeting room with a large table. Casting Find Object, Petros is able to locate his belt and several other things in this room, oddly they seem to be pacing around the main table, continuously moving.   Dahlia moves across a large glyph on the floor and the room shimmers to a shame of blue revealing nothing of interest however when Petros crosses it the room shimmers and he comes face to face with a dark hooded figure pacing the room...

Rewards Granted

You're well on your way to finding all of your equipment and getting back on track to Return Dahlia to her homeland. Being a little side adventure with some interesting and tough puzzle type encounters you each receive 1900XP.

Missions/Quests Completed

Before you can get out of Moreland you do need to reclaim your belongings (if you so wish). this will progress your quest in so much as getting you back on the road after been stalled for several days in Moreland and the accompanying Mines of Morland Caves.

Very little out of party interaction during this game, the best is yet to come in the guise of the hooded figure in The Merchantile top floor.
