Session 38: Escape to the Mountains Report

General Summary

After some time and investigation, you all managed to ascertain that the water hols, wells if you will, each had hieroglyphics that not only numbered the locations but perhaps told you what their exit location would be.    Without a thought Dahlia Di Mare and Tyrian Di Mare lept into well number 10 which threw them out on the shore of a small lake nestled deep within the mountains, and sure enough in view of the Volcano that was to guide them.   A long time passed while the rest of the party drew up the strength to take the leap of faith, inevitably making that leap the party found themselves sitting around a warm fire in the heart of the mountains.   Once morning came the party, taking Malar Naskin lead, tracked into the mountains in search of the main road. After a day you came to a landslide and quickly discovered that it was most likely caused by three stone giants sleeping on the hill.   Again Mal came through with a useful spell and asked a helpful weasel for help (speak to animals spell). The weasel took the lead and quietly lead the party around the giants and set them on the right path.    Sure enough within a short while, the party was once again on the main road.   Four days of easy travel brought them to a small town called "Cross Roads" here they witnessed a man dressed as a plague doctor pronounce someone dead, and on closer observation, it was revealed that the town is suffering a plague.   This man tends to blame it on a fellow who came through several weeks ago while others in the town believe that terrible things come into their houses at night and infect them.    Not wanting to suffer the fate of the townsfolk the party left and headed out of town making camp beside a small brook, it was here that Mal cast another great spell enabling him to talk to the trees.   Evidently several weeks ago a man came into this very glade and took an old obsidian object from the ground and brought about the curse, the trees seem somewhat worried that they may be infected, Mal gave his word they won't.   Addendum - The weasel started to talk to Dahlia, his name is Alf.

Rewards Granted

After escaping the 16 Wells and making it through the mountains, and for the use of some truly awesome spells (Mal) you are granted - 2150XP each

Missions/Quests Completed

Several things happened in this game, you managed to breach the mountains, get within earshot of Mal's tavern, and might actually make the ocean port granting Dahlia a trip home.    Great work!
