Subscribers Access-Denied Discussion-Board
First, apologies for filing this under World Management. Discussion Boards are not a current option in the drop down.
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently if you click the link to a Discussion Board or thread with limited access, and you do not have access, you will be sent to a blank page with nothing but the world's global announcement header.
Click here for an example of what I mean.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
I propose the discussion boards link to the Access Denied message, and redirect to the Custom Access Denied Page on the worlds which have that set.
Ideally I'd love to give the Discussion Boards their own Access Denied message, similar to how we can set custom messages for password locked articles, but I recognize this would be more difficult to implement, and the ability to redirect to the Custom Access Denied Page would likely be easier.
What are other uses for this feature request?
If we could do custom messages per board you could give users instructions on how to gain access, such as acknowledging they read the forum rules and then joining the subscriber group to access. On my forum I have a few sections locked behind Roleplay events and would be able to tell users that.
The more basic implementation of this request, redirecting to the access denied page, would help end confusion when the link fails to load the board. I have had people message me saying the page isn't loading correctly when in reality they just don't have access to the thread (my live fictions, typically) they wanted to read, because they are not subscribed.
