Saka
Saka is a cleric of Hippolyta, an heir to the throne of Zahar, and a member of the party.
Saka was born of the love between Kumar, prince and heir to the sultanate, and Jessamine, an adventurous water genie from the City of Brass, who met in one of the desert's secluded oases. Intermingling with geniekind was forbidden by Kumar's father, the sultan Kumar XIV, just as the offspring of humans were barred from the City of Brass, and so Saka was born into a state of limbo, a part of two worlds but welcomed in neither.
For secrecy and safety, his parents commended Saka to their trusted friend Sheik Waziri, to raise the boy among the Waziri Clan with no knowledge of his royal heritage. They visited him as often as possible. The prince would make excuses to travel alone, and Jessamine would travel across the Smoldering Divide, emerging from a water source by some unknown magical means. Saka's happiest memories were when the three of them could splash together on the banks of some hidden stream.
The Sheik trained the young Saka in the ways of battle and desert survival. Gifted with a connection to the element of water, the young half-genie pledged himself to the river goddess Hippolyta, becoming one of her clerics.
News of Kumar's poisoning reached the Waziri nomads, and Saka was left fatherless. Her caretaker the Sheik kept her far from the violence of the Zahari Civil War, and he grew into a teenager. Recently, Jessamine's visits have also stopped...Saka has not seen or heard from his mother for six months.
Somehow, Rashad learned of Saka's existence and saw his nephew as a threat to his power. He ordered the Cult of Horak to have the boy killed, but the assassin they hired abandoned her grisly task. When Matthias, Chandra, Bohl, and Xandu arrived at Flamingo Springs, they revealed to him the secret of his late father's identity as heir.
No longer safe in the caravan, Saka left with the party on a perilous expedition aboard The Evening Breeze to the distant City of Brass. Though the party hopes to form some alliance with the genies against Rashad and the cult, Saka's deepest hope is to locate his missing mother.
