Nghamra or Ostriger
Basic Information
Anatomy
Nghamra are by far the biggest of the known Griffons, weighing upwards of 200-300lbs, though this weight makes them incapable of flight. They have an orange striped body and fluffy grey plumage in their front. They also have a very long and bendy neck and look quite ridiculous. Despite not being able to fly they are excellent runners and jumpers. Their great size makes them the only Griffon that's possible to be ridden, though they are very temperamental so none have every successfully tried.
Genetics and Reproduction
Nghamra gestate for six months before laying an egg, an extremely large egg that would make for a great omelet, and their egg will hatch after another six months.
Growth Rate & Stages
They take a year and a half to leave the nest and are fully developed after five years.
Ecology and Habitats
Nghamra live in the grasslands in Dala Head where they hunt large herbivores and ambush them by pouncing on them from the tall grass.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Nghamra require a large amount of meat in order to grow to full size and even after fully devolving still require a tremendous around of food, making domestication practically impossible.
Biological Cycle
Nghamra don't live for very long, typically only living for 10-15 years.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They have average sense but their height gives them good vision in the tall grasses they call home. They are also one of the few Griffons that can see in the dark.
