Bringers of Change
Pachians are known for their ability to adapt to any situation. They are naturally social creatures, and pay attention to social cues, but will work to change a situation to their benefit, including their physical environment. Unlike most other sapient species, who attempt to work with their planet and inside it's limitations, Pachians apply this same logic to their planets and work to change them to better suit their needs.Unknown Origins
Pachians are the only species known within the Peacekeeper Alliance to have been found on multiple planets, despite the fact that some of those civilisations were pre-space flight and could not have knowingly travelled there from elsewhere.
It is a mystery that some have pondered (particularly the Minorans) but few have put much effort into solving. It has been accepted as one of the mysteries of the universe.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Pachians are a humanoid species, with two arms, two legs, one head and a torso. Women tend to have enlarged mammery glands and wider hips to allow for childbearing and rearing.
They rely mostly on their eyesight and hearing for understanding the world around them. They use verbal communication, which relies solely on the use of the mouth and is therefore limited in that sense. Despite lacking overt protective coverings, Pachians rely on an intricate social structure for collective survival and progress.
Genetics and Reproduction
Women are able to get pregnant for a period of five to seven days every twenty-eight to thirty-two days. Pachian gestation lasts nine to ten months, and usually results in the birth of a single infant, although two to three is not unheard of but is certainly uncommon.
Behaviour
Pachians rely on social structures and hierarchies for their survival, and the way in which they fit into social groups is a fundemental part of their psychology. Generally, Pachians organise themselves into groups based on shared characteristics, interests, or relationships. Families serve as fundamental units, forming the basis for larger social structures. Social hierarchies and norms shape interactions, and an individual is often judged by themself and others based on their percieved position within these hierarchies.
