Marrekoth River
“The movement of a canoe is like a reed in the wind. Silence is part of it, and the sounds of lapping water, bird songs, and wind in the trees. It is part of the medium through which it floats, the sky, the water, the shores…"
-Sigøurd Olgasdòttír in her novel The Warbling Wilds, published in CY 1644
Geography
The Marrekoth River extends through southern Faron, western Necluda, and feeds into the Dreadnaught Swamp. It remains a major path of travel for the exchange of goods, primarily between Athewell and Zonaius.
The Marrekoth River is one of the calmest, most idyllic rivers in the world. Its banks are a lush, gorgeous verdant green, and the water is crisp, clear, and slow-moving.
Natural Resources
Settlements along the Marrekoth are rich with biodiversity, and thus fish have become one of the major resources harvested from its waters. Miraculously, even with the major population boom in the last few centuries, the Marrekoth still maintains an extensive supply of fish.
