Aramathea

"The sea of sand slowly shifts, covering all of Aramathea's ruined structures with a sparkling film of granular earth... even with the wind, the world here is oddly still."

History

Little is known about the ruined hamlet of Aramathea, other than a rough estimation of the dates it was in existence (~215-301). According to divination wizards, the population disappeared in its entirety in the year 301 after venturing into the central structure of the village (a place known as the Temple of the Old God) and never emerging.   The village was rediscovered in CY 1567 by Dr. Timothée Marr of The Academy of Ancient Studies, and he wrote his doctoral dissertation on what he found in the area. However, due to stringent safety procedures, he never ventured into the central Temple.   In CY 1619, a party consisting of Dimdani the Dashing, Brad Christensen, Tjuna, and Rachael the Spicy were called by Dr. Marr to this very site. Rumors had begun to sprout up at nearby outposts of horrific dreams and night terrors, and the academy diviners had realized that the source was this ruined village.   The hired party ventured into the Temple of the Old God and encountered the Beholder within, successfully killing it and stopping the horrific dreams of all in the area.

Climate

As Aramathea is in the western Bushfire Desert, it gets extremely hot here.
