Murov

Red Crown of the North

Artwork: Ancient City, David Edwards
Murov ,also known as the Red Crown of the North, is the most important and influential city in Mekrad and perhaps in all Euron. The road to Murov was well paved and well patrolled. The city was the hub of trading from the mineral-rich lands to the north, the kingdom of Kingdom of Prausterland to the south. Murov's authority extended between thirty to forty miles from its walls. The surrounding region had a population density of over 200 people per square mile.
This is Murov, The brightest gem in Mekrads's Red Crown of the North. Look upon it, and know that Red Crown of the North is more than the nickname for the city of Murov, it is an attitude shared by its people. And those who come th our walls seek conquest shall are most assuredly t witness how it earned its name. Is it not splendid? Is it not matchless?

Murov was the capital of Tzardom of Mekrashov and the home of the ruling House of Vesiliev. Tzar Desmund Ishutin Vesiliev delegated much of the day-to-day tasks of running Mekrashov to his Lord Magister Grigor Chernov who was responsible for keeping the peace, maintaining city services and collecting taxes. The Lord Magister was assisted by a herald who handled the paperwork necessary to run the city.
