According to legend, the goddess Mother Urslana burst forth from a portal near present-day Murov in the Year of the Striking Mace, −11 276 AC in what would become known as the Dawn of The Northern Spring. For the next nine years, Urslana and a host of two hundred archons would pacify the north, Slaying a Great beast of the Founding, a three headed hound. After slaying the foul beast, Urslana would water the ground with its fiery ichor, making the land suitable for settlement by the Krashuk tribes who would soon migrate to Mekrad.
Murov was founded by Njorskar-Krashuk settlers as a trading post on the 2nd of Ches, -1142 . It was the first recorded settlement of what would later be known as the nation of Mekrad. Initially Murov was simply a stopping point for caravans moving through the Krashuk Steppe, it grew into a major city that trafficked in goods coming from the dwarves of Khaz Glittrum Kadrel, the elven cities of south of the Auldheim Mountains and the nomadic tribes of Njorskarmarkr
Architecture
Murov is not just the biggest and most city of the Krashuk people, but arguably the most beautiful too, the city streets are paved with cobblestones. Buildings are tall, each of them rising at least three floors above ground. They are made of stone and thick timber, and sported slate of tile roofs. The outer area of the city is an uneasy sprawl that reaches out to its rebuilt walls.
A typical building has one floor below ground (used as a shop or storage), a shop at street level, offices or rental storage on the second floor, and residential areas above that.
It was usual for large residences and noble houses to feature barred windows, hidden inner holds equipped with arrowslits, and various other defenses.
As the landscape made it difficult to grow the town further, due to all the surrounding area is id dedicated for agarian purposes, numerous walled compounds have been built within sight of the town. Those compounds are used by businesses which required large workplaces or storage areas, and are also defended by the garrison of Kravgorod.
Sewers
Some buildings have basic sewers, which emptiy straight into the Delilva River. During spring rains, the river would sometimes swell and flood cellars. Most of the city is built from stone, from the buildings to the cobbled streets. The streets of the city had narrow but deep channels in their center, which were used to guide rainwater towards the river. They are often insufficient though, causing the streets to be permanently dirty and smelly from a melange of water and dung.Geography
Murov is situated on the Ishutin Trail, on the southern bank of the Delilva River Its source is at The Frozen Heights, and it emptied into the Orryuzan Bay on the Shatterskerry-Shore.
