The Three Hammers
The Three Hammers Inn is a large inn located just a few hundred feet from the gates of the Town of Dunhill. It is a popular and busy establishment owned and run by Argus Duff. The Inn offers rooms, meals, drinks and has a well-equipped stables next door.
Sensory & Appearance
The Common Room of the Three Hammers is quite large and open, and is typically filled with the smells of braised meat, fresh baked bread and strong, dark beer. There are numerous animal skulls and antler racks mounted on the walls around the room, the largest of which is a (relatively) small mastodon skull with large, curling ivory tusks extending out into the room. Many deer and elk antlers, as well as two large smilodon skulls are also prominently displayed. These displays are not so much trophies of successful hunts but evidence of where Argus has procured some of the meats he cooks over his hearth. Most days, the meats he serves from his copper cook pots is beef, but whenever he can get quality game meat from the wilder and more dangerous regions of the Kingdom's interior, Argus does so and serves it proudly and with great success.
Denizens
The Three Hammers is owned by Argus Duff, a Redfist Dwarf that was pensioned off at the mine after an accident took his right leg. Argus lives in a small apartment on the second story of the Hammers and can be found working the kitchen and common room as many as 15 hours every day.
Argus also employs three maids to work the common room with him, another cook that comes in on the busiest nights of the week, two young stable hands and an ancient Gnome woman named Bellaria Carthax that runs the laundry and cleans the guest areas on teh second and third floors.
Special Properties
Argus is a huge supporter (and consumer) of Redfield Brewing products, especially their ales, stouts and ciders. He maintains a small but elegant wine selection, but his primary revenue maker at the Inn are Redfield brews. His meals are simple and hearty braised meats and boiled potatos served piping hot from pots hung over the constantly burning hearth, with loaves of fresh warm bread. Patrons are mostly locals, with a smattering of visiting Cobalian or foreign traders and adventurers.
