Argus Duff
Argus Duff (a.k.a. Red Stick)
Argus Duff is the owner of The Three Hammers in the Town of Dunhill. He is an 88-year-old Redfist Dwarf who lost his leg in a mining accident 12 years ago. After being pensioned off from the mine, Argus immediately took his savings and purchased the Inn.
Argus is a very broad and strong Dwarf, with a thick mane of flaming red hair and a thick, curly red beard. He is fondly referred to as the "Red Stick" by his friends and patrons in part because of his hair and beard. Argus is well known as an inn keeper that wants no violence in his establishment, and on the rare occasions that violence does happen, he has popped his wooden leg off his stump and used it to great effect to bring peace and tranquility back to the Hammers. This rather unorthodox but quite effective use of his wooden leg is the other basis for the moniker.

A thick oak peg is belted to where his right leg once was, and that peg is half the root of his nickname "Red Stick".

Personal history
Twelve years ago, Argus was a foreman of a gang of ten Dwarves working the Dunhill silver mine. The drift of the mine that Argus and his gang were working was on a rather steep incline, and the gang had to be especially careful that the heavy, iron-shod carts used to move silver ore out of the shafts didn't go out of control on the downhill run out of the shaft. One day, after a long and grueling shift of hard mining, one of the carts did break free and come rushing down the steep shaft at dealy speed. Argus saw the danger and physically threw two of his gang members out of harms way, but was struck down by the fully loaded and out-of-control cart. His right leg was amputated by the iron wheels of the multi-ton cart at mid-thigh before he could roll out of its way.
For risking his life and limbs to keep his gang safe, the Jermin family (who own the mine at Dunhill) gave Argus a pension of 25 guineas a year and sold him the abandoned building that would become The Three Hammers.

Motivation
Argus is a passionate and dedicated member of the Clan Redfist and proudly supports the Clan's efforts to establish a homeland for itself within the Kingdom of Cobal. He is very supportive of the Sheriff of Redstone and the Warden of Rolar, Rory Broadshield.
Argus is not opposed to any of the Lesser Dwarven Clans working to establish a homeland for themselves, but he is actively opposed to the efforts made by certain members of the Clan Hardhelm to hamper the Redfist efforts rather than focus solely on working to further their own Clan's efforts.
