Declan Miner is the Sherriff of the County of Redstone in the Ward of Rolar . He is a 250-year-old Redfist Dwarf dedicated to making his county a safe and secure place to live and work.

As Sherriff, Declan has a staff of office. His is a polished hickory stave with a carved grip inlaid with silver. In truth, the staff looks remarkably like a wooden short sword. None the less, it is his right to carry it as his symbol of authority, and he does where ever he goes.

Personal history
Declan was born in the Gorgomoth region of the Kingdom of Aria just months before his parents moved to Cobal. As dedicated and passionate Redfist Clan members, Declan's parents were eager to assist their Clan in the effort to establish a homeland.
Declan was the oldest of three sons. His family settled in the Redstone Hills region of the Ward of Rolar where his father, Delmar Miner, established what would later become the Bright Mine on the slopes of Bright Mountain. 70 years ago, Delmar was killed with 6 other Dwarves in a shaft collapse. Declan and his brothers inherited the mine entirely, with Declan becoming a silent partner and taking the role of Sheriff of Redstone County while his brother operated and expanded the mine into the profitable venture that it is today.

Since becoming Sherrif, Declan has taken an increasingly deminishing role within the Bright Mine operation. His focus has become the safety, security and prosperity of the County of Redstone and its population. He sees the Redstone Hills area as an ideal location for the establishment of a Redfist homeland within the Kingdom.

Family Ties
Declan is the oldest of three brothers, and his younger siblings are the current operators of the Bright Mine. His mother still lives and keeps the family home in a well-appointed manor just outside the Bright Mine entrances.
Mannerisms
Typically rather gruff and loud in his tone, especially when speaking as Sherrif. He tolerates no violence or misbehavior within his County, and has no patience for confrontational actions taken by local members of the Clan Hardhelm.
Wealth & Financial state
As one of the owners of the Bright Mine, Declan is quite well-off. He takes no salary as Sherrif and contributes a significant amount of gold and resources to the training and upkeep of the County's Company of Legionaires that defends it.
