Ynue Rebellion
As I've communed with mystics, those who didn't try to kill and eat me, I've come to a realization, their stories all tell the same stories, just in different words, and contexts. The Fae were easiest to talk to, but they spoke in vague concepts and emotions, that I spent a long time trying to translate into human language.
Dragon stories were more matter-of-factly, but I rarely got one to stop trying to eat me long enough to get their stories, and ents, the worst of them all, their stories are the most detailed, but by the gods, trying to get them to stay on point is a whole task on its own, they would rather muse about yesterdays squirrel visit than actually share their stories of ancient times.
Alas, after many years of careful research, I have cross-referenced all my sources, and made this summary, in the hopes of one day getting it published!
-Excerpt from a journal that never got published.
War of Gods
When Yanu created the Onu, the Ynue rejoiced, thankful for beings for them to command. When Yanu created the elementals, the Ynue thought nothing of it, how could such whimsical creatures, bound to nothing, not even time, ever do anything? But when Yanu created the Mystics, The Ynue became suspicious. What was their master planning? why had he created these independent, weak beings? they weren't even allowed to enslave them? The Ynue became convinced that Yanu meant to rid himself of them, and give the world to his weaker creations, who would be easier for him to control. This outraged the Ynue, and they conspired to beat him to it.Conspiracy
The one who led this insubordination was Mallakar, and many soon followed him, some because they shared his sentiment, and others because they were afraid of him. But not all of them, some called him a madman, a fiend, and a traitor. They fled from his presence and alerted Yanu of Mallakar's plot to overthrow him.War
Yanu renamed those who had stayed loyal to him, dubbing them the Sanue, the sacred, and tasked them with bringing Mallakar to justice. Many battles were fought, and the earth was plunged into chaos and ruin, the massive powers that clashed in the heavens left the climates permanently shifted. The Onu had sworn themselves to the Sanue, who were Yanu's righteous children, and for that, they were hunted. The Ynue resented the disobedience of those they had considered their slaves, and they hunted the Onu with great prejudice, capturing and corrupting those they could, and genociding those who resisted. Only a rare few managed to escape this wrath. The Sanue were one by one defeated by the Ynue, but they were immortal shards, pieces of Yanu, and by extension, the source, and they could not be killed. So the Ynue banded together, each of them pitching in a piece of their own power, to create a final Cosue, a god of prisons, who could contain the Sanue for the rest of time.Punishment
When Yanu saw his children slaughtered, his Sanue imprisoned, and he could not stand idly by. He intervened before the Ynue were able to secure their victory, and he Banished them from his world, it took all his strength to do so, but the world was safe once more.Aftermath
Yanu realised the world now lacked a creation component, the Ynue had betrayed him, so he created new ones, they would be mortals, with a drive to create, and it was thus that he gave birth to the Corporeal races, who went forth and shaped the world into something beautiful and terrifying.
