First Album of Crushed Velvet: Titanomachy Document in The Trident Coalition | World Anvil

First Album of Crushed Velvet: Titanomachy

Recorded over a period of almost three months “Titanomachy” was the first album of the boy band Crushed Velvet.

The recording sessions were held in the recording studio of Euterpe Recording Company in Aeolus City and was constantly interrupted by arguments and fights between the members of the band and their manager, as the band members wanted to use material written by Worley Harper, (or Harley Williamson as he was known then,) while their manager, Humphrey Boswell, wanted to use the material written by an independent song writer whom he had hired. The finished album contained 15 tracks written by Harley and three tracks written by the outside songwriter. Most true fans of Crushed Velvet presses the “Skip” button when the songs by the outsider comes on.

During the recording sessions the youngest, and cutest, band member, Elliot Waters was reading a holographic comic book adaptation of the ancient epic “Titanomachy” and jokingly suggested it as a name for the album. Harley and Humphrey had one of their few moments of agreeing with each other when they both liked the suggestion and decided to go with the title, even though Elliot kept trying to point out that “It was just a joke.”

Publication Status

It was released all over the Coalition, available as a physical holographic storage medium and as a downloadable version. The album was temporarily withdrawn when the truth about the Ear Worm Virus broke, but since this album didn’t contain the virus it, it was released again and is the only one of the band’s albums that is still available.

Historical Details

Public Reaction

The public was skeptical and a bit cautious during the first day, until Crushed Velvet performed live on stage on Boulder Island at the Winter Solstice Festival, the same day the album was released and the seventeenth birthday of band member Lewis Carter. The public enjoyed the performance so much that the physical version sold out in a matter of minutes after the last encore.
