Winter Solstice Festival

This is the most festive tradition, which occurs near the end of each year, on those planets that have an axial tilt.

They celebrate that the light will return and the days get longer, by singing and releasing rice paper lanterns, which rises up into the air and light up the night sky.

It’s also common to have open air concerts by popular musicians.
Some people exchange gifts with their loved ones, usually their significant other, but this isn’t a formal part of the tradition.
