Highdark Species in The Realm of Beardsgaard | World Anvil

Highdark

Much like the High Elves in Alfheim, the Highdark are the ruling species of Svartalfheim, what with their lack of tendency to die with old age. Their Vanir ancestry gives them a rather long view in leadership, and the decisions that come from that knowledge are considered pragmatic, if sometimes cold.   They are just as often found in Vanaheim, the forests there remind them of a time when the forests of Svartalfheim looked similar, even if they were not alive yet to see it. Their magic is deep and quintessentially northern, shaped by the weirdness that proximity to Gaw brings.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

Highdark age stages take after whichever culture they are raised in, but all things being equal, they lean toward their Vanir side in this regard. They reach full size around 10 years of age, but are still considered in their youth until the age of 100, at 300 they are usually done with their procreation years, and are considered an elder at 1000 years old and beyond.
Legacy Beings take on traits of each of their parent species. A single Vanir far back in a long line of Night Elves will make for a present day Highdark with mostly Elven characteristics.   Choose which of your parent species you take after more, then take the Stats and Prime Traits of that parent species, and the Legacy Trait of the other parent species.
