Conclaves of the Cycle

Scattered throughout the glades and forests of Ragnarok are gatherings of great Satyr clans, which call mighty, hidden groves their homes. They are secret to those the satyr do not welcome, and many an interloper has passed within a few paces of such a portal to these groves without knowing it was there. Those who enter through one of these strange gateways find themselves in a series of grand, beautiful caverns deep below the groves or hills. Roots can be seen far above, curving down and branching out in complex, interweaving patterns to form natural forest tunnels and great bioluminescent halls.   It is in these halls that the satyr feast and celebrate the natural cycles of their forests, holding grand banquets of woodland game. The halls are alive with wild dancing, lilting laughter, and melodic music. It is not unheard of for outsiders to join a satyr feast on occasion, but it is a foolish individual indeed that would eat or drink the foodstuffs of the satyr without invitation.   Together, these four satyr conclaves are the Conclaves of the Cycle, united in their strong beliefs in a philosophy called the Cycle, and while each conclave holds dominion over four forests across Ragnarok, none hold singular dominion over the sacred Ebonwood, and many satyr from all four conclaves call it home.

Caerwyn Conclave

Native to the Casmian Vale, the Caerwyn conclave are the most amicable and free-spirited satyr of all four conclaves. While friendly, their notable pacifism has earned them a reputation of being the most naive satyr conclave. However, while this is true to some extent, they are not above launching fearsome defensive campaigns should necessity call for it.   The Caerwyn conclave is not farmed for its warriors, but rather its healers. These healers tend to be the most bonded to the natural forces of new life. It is because of this that the Caerwyn conclave elevates the spring season above all others, and has cultivated its home forest of the Casmian Vale thanks to the life-giving Casmian River, despite bordering the Dead Wastes.   The Caerwyn conclave tends to attract a mixture of both sunborn and nightborn satyrs, who resemble the patterns of spring with vibrant pastels of greens, blues, purples, and yellows.

Kelleth Conclave

The Kelleth conclave finds its home within the Sintallian Forest, and is the second-largest conclave among the satyr clans. It is the most enigmatic of the four conclaves, renowned for its circles of historians, soothsayers and seers who use the stars to foretell prophecies and read the webs of fate. They are able to predict the coming of weather, the seasons, and have been known to offer advice to some farmers from the Dusken Rosefields regarding the perfect times to grow their crops. This is rare, as few journeys into the Sintallian forest to confer with satyrs.   The Kelleth conclave reveres the autumnal seasons as a time of change and balance. To the Kelleth, Autumn is a time to preserve the new and to let go of the old. Because of this, the conclave is migratory by nature, and every year they abandon their old homes to find a new place to settle within the Sintallian forest.   Satyrs of the Kelleth conclave are, remarkably, a mixture of sunborn and nightborn stayr hued with rich browns, maroon reds, and fiery oranges.

Tilesh Conclave

Known to inhabit the icy pine groves of the Koruna Hinterlands, the Tilesh conclave is the smallest of the four groves, and its members are the least trusted individuals among satyrs, but while distant from their cousins in the southern forests, they will still fight for the Cycle, their home, and the rest of their kin should desperate times call for it.   The Tilesh conclave reveres the eternal winter: a time when all things must come to an end to start the Cycle anew. Most see them as cold, distant, and untrusting of outsiders, even for satyrs. They have, on occasion, been known to utilize frost Magic and the dark arts of necromancy, not to reanimate the dead, but to speak with them. They are also famous for their shadow-stalkers and assassins, keeping to the shadows to strike their foes with bow and arrow from afar.   Satyrs from the Tilesh conclave tend to be nightborn satyr, often reflecting the season they revere, with pastel pale colorations of white, blue, and purple.

Varden Conclave

The Varden conclave are known to inhabit the sun-drenched, green forests of Tarratona Isle. They are known for their skilled warriors and make up a majority of the satyr armies. Elevating honor and expertise in battle above all else, they are the boldest, strongest, and most extroverted of all satyr conclaves. They also tend to be the most ruthless to their enemies.   A vast majority of the Varden conclave tends to be sunborn satyr, colored in hues of verdant greens and fiery yellows. The conclave reveres the warmth of the sun and the vital life it gives to the Cycle, for without it they believe life and the Cycle itself would cease to be.
