The Hunters Guild of Krakonia - HGK

Located in the Expanse District of Krakonia City , the Hunters Guild of Krakonia, HGK for short, is one of the many Guilds of Krakonia that were created after The Kingdom of Krakonia was founded. It is a guild dedicated to, for lack of a grander word, hunting. Natural resources are abundant in a world that has been left mostly untouched by civilization for an untold amount of time, and even decades after The Dawn , those resources are still easily accessible to those willing to brave the dangerous wilds of Requerm . As such, the HGK has taken it upon itself to document and manage the many different natural resources throughout Requerm so that the kingom may continue to prosper. As part of this mission, the HGK has become the place to go for adventurers, soldiers, and other travelers to study up on the many Great Beasts that live throughout Requerm so that they can be prepared in the near-inevitable event that they come across one in the wild. This is in no small part due to the Krakonia National Zoo run by the HGK itself, which also happens to be the main way the HGK makes its money to fund its research endeavors.

Unlike most of the larger guilds in the kingdom, the HGK isn't led by a warhero/former Harbinger of the Rising Dawn , but rather a simple man, Holter Kynigos . He, along with his family, were transported to Requerm as per the Effects of the Dawn shortly before the end of The Unification Wars , where they quickly gained favor with Krakonian elites due to their unusual status among Dawn refugees. The entire family apparently had much experience with hunting research in their plane of origin, and realized quite quickly that their skills would be needed in the new kingdom. Once the war was over, it didn't take much convincing to get the HGK funded as part of the new guild system, despite the leader not having the same level of direct trust that King Daerius Quintus of Krakonia had with the founders of the other guilds. Using the funds from the kingdom, Kynigos created the Krakonia National Zoo, his previous occupation from his home plane of existence, taking advantage of the large space given to him in the outskirts of the city.

The HGK pays adventurers and researchers for any information pertaining to the wilds of Requerm in regards to both flora and fauna, valuing information about Great Beasts in particular quite highly. The kingdom, in peacetime, considers Great Beasts the greatest threat to the safety of its people, particularly merchants and travelers moving from city to city, as well as those living in smaller settlements with weaker defenses. Because of this, the HGK carefully documents everything it can about Great Beasts, from their behaviors, to their habitats, to their weaknesses and strengths, to even the most obscure, tiny detail. Additionally, because firsthand experience is the best kind of experience, the HGK has teamed up with The Warriors Guild of Krakonia(WGK) and Spintail Colosseum to have gladiators fight captured Great Beasts in front of a live audience so that adventurers, soldiers, and warriors can learn from example about how to handle Requerm's deadliest creatures. It helps that these gladiator fights are profitable, of course.
