Spintail Colosseum

Located in the Sky District of Krakonia City , right next to The Warriors Guild of Krakonia(WGK) , Spintail Colosseum is an enormous battleground for gladiator fights, sports, and other active competitions for the citizens of The Kingdom of Krakonia . It is best known for the regular combat tournaments it hosts, pitting powerful warriors against each other for fame and fortune. The leader of the WGK itself, Haley Spintail , hosts many of the tournaments in Spintail Colosseum, bringing excitement and awe with her performances as both a fighter and entertainer.

Owned by the WGK, Spintail Colosseum is a major source of income for the guild, as well as the city itself, since it draws crowds from all across the kingdom, bringing many economic advantages with them. The WGK uses this money to sustain itself, as well as fund the many training programs available to citizens and guild members alike. However, with as much money as it makes, the Colosseum also saps away much of its profits with more complicated, grand spectacles every year. The use of powerful magic, courtesy of the architect mages from the The Mages Guild of Krakonia(MGK) and the instant healers from The Physicians Guild of Krakonia(PGK) , eat up much of their budget, but because of how incredible the end result of this investment is, and how important the events it hosts are to the surrounding businesses in the city and the scholars that observe and learn from them, the Colosseum is able to continue running consistently.

As for the events themselves, Spintail Colosseum hosts quite the diverse set of competitions, including everything from combat tournaments between gladiators, to complicated sports challenges between athletes, to competitive displays of prowess between The Clans of Krakonia , to impressive displays of strength for warriors facing off against Great Beasts , to friendly holiday games that even children are allowed to participate in, and everything in between. If it can draw a crowd, as well as potentially some blood, chances are it will be approved as an official WGK-approved event.

The most popular events are the tournaments between adventurers, courtesy of the WGK's partnership with The Adventurers Guild of Krakonia(AGK) . Thanks to the magic within the Colosseum, adventurers are able to compete and fight within various biomes, where they attempt to accomplish tasks before their opponents, ultimately resulting in a lot of fights where diverse, well-balanced parties with many tricks up their sleeves show impressive strength, tenacity, and teamwork that normal gladiators can only dream of.

Additionally, thanks to a partnership with The Hunters Guild of Krakonia(HGK) , the Colosseum has a decent supply of Great Beasts that it uses for both entertainment and educational purposes. When the HGK is done studying a particular beast, it often sends the beast over to the Colosseum for demonstrative purposes, letting the general public observe the beast in action during a fight with well-trained warriors. The citizenry gets their entertainment, the adventurers get their study sessions, and the Colosseum gets its ticket sales, so it's a win for everyone, really. Except maybe the Great Beast itself. Captured Great Beasts don't grow on trees, of course, so typically the beasts in the Colosseum will be revived until its clear that they no longer put on a good performance, at which point they're generally docile enough to reasonably stay in the Krakonia National Zoo without much trouble.

Another notable competition that transpires fairly often at the Colosseum is an annual competition between the various clans of Krakonia. Clans often use the location as a safe-ish way to measure their capabilities against one another in an attempt to earn the favor of Krakonian nobles and politicians, thus landing more opportunities for their people. Because of what's on the line, these competitions can get quite brutal, and are considered the most gruesome to view as an audience member, since entertainment is generally the last thing on the minds of the participants.
