The EndSong's Journey

WIP: Gjorn's story catches up to Ilgor fully at the end of Arc 1

Introducing the Dwarf himself with a rundown of his general demeanor, and a little about his past and position in the world. Gjorn is a major player in the World Political Scene as well as one of the World's foremost users of magic. Many of his abilities are not well understood, being allied to many strange forces, yet holds his people's wellbeing in the highest regard.
When he was young, Gjorn found himself in the perfect position to take back their Homeland, Mhuzelt. Yet when he was victorious, he found something beneath his prize. An old magic, ancient and raw, here he learned one of the many secrets of this world. Thoughts of family and camaraderie hold a certain strength when it comes to the songs we sing.

Great Tree Origins: The End Song

Coming soon! Know that Gjorn had endured a trial that no one on The Great Tree had known. Knocking on the door that was never meant to be seen, given a gift that none of his people had the capability of wielding. Learning a truth that opened his mind, learning a secret long hidden from the world, learning that he and everything else on the Tree come from a dark source.
When Gjorn returned from his journey to The Elsewhere, having been claimed by forces far stronger than anything seen on the Branches of Tree. He was given a message and an opportunity to tame the power given to him. He begins to learn the secrets of the Wayfare Guild and their strangely powerful magic that seems to be hidden in plain sight from the general public.
The fallout of Alnya and her choice made with Gjorn, the gift she gave him begins to boil to the surface. As anger and frustration plaster themselves on a stressful situation, the Queen reminds the Commander of the Elsewhere's military that she is still very much a goddess.
Gjorn confronts this new apparent Soldier as he is forced to undergo some form of spell that will extract any and all lies from him. He reminds them all that Alnya had claimed him as one her own, and he doesn't understand why they do not share the same sentiment. Odeza reminds him that is true, yet others need more convincing.
Gjorn worms his way out of the clutches of his perpetually armed Guard to have a moment to himself, away from all the hateful looks he has been given. Only to find the source of all his troubles, at least in The Elsewhere, in a moment similar to his. Here he learns that she is deeply disturbed at the situation on The Great Tree, and that she as an actual god, doesn't understand how he could forgive her actions so easily.
As Gjorn is being passed from assignment to assignment to somehow prove his worth to these people, he finally steps in, tired of their actions. He sees them as cruel for what he views as toying with something that cannot be saved. He took pity when he understood what these Vestiges were, are. Giving it a mercy they didn't have the stomach to do themselves.
We're jumping some beats here, know that more will fill out between these two moments. Gjorn reminisces about his father and the lessons he learned during one of the Dwarven Holidays: Sky Sight. Understanding that he still had much more to learn, and was far too young at the time to appreciate his Father when he was alive.
We're jumping some beats here, know that more will fill out between these two moments. Written from the perspective someone his Voice was used against. Gjorn uses a much more refined variant of Brownie Speech, one that he has learned from the Elsewhere during the War with the Shadows. He earns the nickname EndSong for his actions during a battle between the Federation and the Caliphate. Here, he is finally recognized as a true threat, and that his power is far larger in scale than anyone thought imaginable.
We're jumping some beats here, know that more will fill out between these two moments. He is loath to need her. He cannot stand to even be associated with Azu: The Raven, the very Shadow that hunted him during The Battle of the Black Fortress. But, he knows that she harbors someone that the Elsewhere needs. That yet another of The Quartet still lives, and that she is willing to betray the other Shadows for the slim hope that she will get to keep her "prize".
We're jumping some beats here, know that more will fill out between these two moments. After Gjorn and Halgier The Second King of Dwarves have met Ilgor of the Skullbrood Clan for the first time, he senses a great power from her. Noting that she shares the Brownie Speech that he does, he strikes up a conversation with her. Only to meet with the one and only thing The Elsewhere needs. He sees Vilorlith Tethered to the Goblin woman, and she gives him a command. He understands perfectly that this information cannot be given, cannot be leaked on the Great Tree without this woman being hunted and killed by the Shadows.
