Wayfare Guild

Overview

The guild has no national Identity as they exist in most courts and settlements. They are a Guild of magic that teaches exclusively Teleportation magic. They typically have a high position in all regions they reside in as the local populace and the Courts find them useful. They act as a Mass Transit system, Correspondence, News cycling, Informants, and have specific uses inside militaries and combat situations. While they continue to push the limits on what can actually be effected by teleportation, they also refine what is known to a great degree.

Structure

The Guild exists as a tiered system that allows more freedom the higher in the Guild one moves up. While they also move higher in the ranks, the fewer there are to compete with, the more a Wayfare knows, the more they are allowed to know. Until one day, someday, the truth is revealed to them. Their true Purpose, their true leadership.

Acolyte

This is a position held by all members at one point, as it is the entry level stage. This is where the Guild evaluates whether or not the acolyte can actually cast the magic demanded of them to any reasonable degree. Those that are unable to cast the magic are rejected from Guild and not allowed inside the organization. Though this does not mean they won't offer any of their services to you, only that you will not be able to learn their magic, or any behind the scenes goings on.

The acolyte will be responsible for most of the day to day affairs of the Guild. They distribute information, assist in research, and guide others through their buildings and libraries. Often acting as the first point of contact for the general public. Despite this being the "entry level" most Acolytes are typically very well educated, coming from all walks of life. Compared to the Gods Eyes who are the shooting stars of the Guild, the Acolytes are bar none the most recognizable members in their light blue star speckled robes.

Accepted

This is a position that is only obtained after the Acolyte has proved that they can open and sustain portals for extended periods of time. In addition the Acolyte can only move to this stage after they have shown competency in any other magic that isn't based in reality (the material planes). The Accepted are given the ability to start their own research and taught more complicated teleportation. They are also given the opportunity to travel to other Guild holds to learn local variances of the magic.

Heightened

This is a position that is obtained after the Accepted has mastered Teleportation in the Material planes. In addition this level is obtained after the caster has learned to incorporate other magic into teleportation. These members are given full access to all the Guild and information at their disposal. They are at this point given the opportunity to take on advisor roles to local Municipalities and Courts.

Enlightened

Are what you could call Guild masters. They oversee the operations of the local Guilds and deal with any political situations that arise and any new information that comes to their attention that aid in teleportation research. They also engage in dealing with the other Guilds of their settlements and Internal Guild connections. This level in based on appointment, due to merit, talent, and competency. These Guild Masters are somewhat enigmatic, and their understanding of teleportation borderlines metaphysical understanding.

Gods Eyes

This is a rank held by very few. This is based off the casters skill alone. Gods Eyes may not be politically savvy, or socially skilled, they leave that to the Heightened and Enlightened. These casters deal only with the upper echelons of the organization. They work with over arching projects between Guild Masters and do not deal with the public much. To say these caster are prodigies would not give them justice. Their understanding of the magic is profound. Their magic could be said to rival even the gods ability to manipulate the plane of reality. These are the mages that enable the Mass Transit systems built by the Guild, as these permanent portals are used by a vast amount of material, and people a day. They also do not need to be anywhere near their portals for them to open or close, they seem to be able to do this at will.

Relier les Plaines Brisées

Requirements: The caster cannot be proficient in any magic that has a physical manifestation. Meaning most combat magic, Magic given by Patrons, or Healing magic. While it is unknown why this is the case, the common held belief by the upper echelons of the Guild is that the user that is too used to seeing the power as based in the physical world, will not be able to see the vast number of connections made by the fractal nature of the material plane.
General Understanding: Teleportation is based entirely in the magic of possibility. The position of anything on the material plane can be manipulated simply by realizing that the flat rigid plane that most perceive the world to be is only one possibility. Fractal planes is a massive guiding principal in this field of magic.
"The world we live in, the way it functions, is not necessarily true. Fold the plane to make closer connections, see the branches of the White Tree, and take an easier path. A portal is more about making distance irrelevant, when we can just move the world closer to us." - Enlightened of Glaion.

Easily done. Do that myself all the time.
